Seriously, this album fucking rules. Easily Death's most unpopular release, I think many people just don't even give it a chance. This album is solid as shit. Chuck's vocals started taking on their signature sound, the riffing improved in all areas, and JAMES F'ING MURPHY & CHUCK SCHULDINER trading off riffs and solos. "Low Life" has one of the greatest trade-off solos ever, SRSLY. The guitar work on this album is simply amazing, one of the best ever in a death metal record.

Personally, this album has my favorite lyrical topics. Subjects such as the right to live, abortion, execution, psychological drama and a homicidal holiday easily put this album in my top 20 of all time. While I often cycle through the albums, I always seem to have a new favorite. Death is probably my favorite metal band of all time, and the albums all have a personal significance with me. If this album has not been re-released, it need to be! More people need to be introduced to this masterpiece.

well I prefer other albums from Death... but Spiritual Healing is cool too...

I think people underrate OLD MAN'S CHILD... and especialy the album VERMIN... Best drumming in the world!!! Reno Kiilerich the BLASTBEAST.

I dig that album. I don't really like the direction CoB are heading in, but I still think that album maintained a great sound, even if they are straying from their cool neo-classical roots and going more towards the diminished/american vibe. Some great riffs and great choruses that make you bang your head totally.

which album had the I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK MOTHERFUCKER lyric on it?
because that album sucks.

Isis - Celestial
one of my favourite metal albums ever and people just dont seem give a fuck about it :(

Totally agree, some others I think are,
NAPALM DEATH - Harmony Corruption
CANNIBAL CORPSE - Gallery of Suicide
SLAYER - South of Heaven
MEGADETH - Countdown to Extinction
SUFFOCATION - Suffocation
EXODUS - Impact is Imminent
MOTORHEAD - 1916
and anything by SPINAL TAP!

?????????? How can you say Countdown and South of Heaven are underrated???? Aren't these both like multiplatinum gold triple lutz records???? Wasn't Countdown like the best selling metal album of 1992 or whenever it came out?? I don't understand this post at all. Please clarify.

See, that's AYDY, but still, even if that line is retarded, the song still has awesome fucking riffs and grooves IMO, as do all the rest on the album! My favorites, however, are Follow the Reaper > Hatebreeder (just a bit too much neoclassical at times, e.g. the end of the title track, which I HAET  But overall awesome ) > Something Wild > AYDY > HCD > AIDS > Blooddrunk :D

ITS MY WORLD
YOURE IN IT
ILL TAKE YOU DOWN IN A MINUTE

after i am finished eating this delicious piece of toast.

Hahahahahahhahahaha, nice  Fortunately it is absolutely impossible for lyrics to ruin a song for me! (nor can good lyrics save an otherwise awful one)

I wish I could say the same but Clawfingers "Little Baby" creeps the fuck out of me every time I listen to it.

(Sorry Jocke, love the rest of the album, but that songs gets skipped every time, its just too fucked up)

I bought Abysmal Dawn's "Programmed to Consume" after seeing them with Abigail Williams and I am enjoying it a lot. I agree completely with spiritual healing, such a brilliant album that was way before it's time. Only difference is my favorite trade-off solo from that album is from "Altering the Future" :P

They are great albums, but most will say that Rust in Peace and Reign in Blood are the ducks nuts, these 2 albums are never really talked about in favourites or never mentioned in influencial threads, more so SOH than CTE though, to me they are just as good as their "Big ones". Hope this clarifies it for you. :)

+A FUCKLOAD, I love that album musically (definitely more than HCD, and Blooddrunk obviously :Smug: ), and it has my favorite of their guitar tones!

I don't take the lyrics too seriously, so they don't bother me - I just find them funny at times. HCD is my favorite of theirs, though.

Silhouettes by Textures is probably the first that comes to mind; I also think Catch Thirty-Three by Meshuggah doesn't get nearly as much love as it should.
