US Bands You Should Hear

Tyrant in Distress
Here's some to check out:

Actual Time (technical instrumental)
Gracepoint (progressive, but not like Dream Theater prog)
Lord Weird Slough Feg (metal with celtic folk influence)
Mastodon (technical hardcore)
Zero Hour (technical prog)

I could go on forever, but those are ones that aren't so well known, but are excellent.

Yea Zero Hour is brilliant!

How about Power Of Omens? Great band Great vocalist and techical as well as progressive.

Gordian Knot, I can't wait for the new one.

Anacrusis weird kinda thrash with tech influences
You can d/l their complete catalog here:

I will check out the other bands you named. I am kinda anoyed that I don't know them, but thanks anyway.

Hey dude

Your fast :D

Nope, Anacrusis are a real US band. I have been following them since their first album. They are a sort of pet band for me if you know what I mean LOL

I hope you will enjoy their other albums as well. You seem just as big a fanatic as I am. I like that! ;)

Thanks, I think, hehe. I must've read that about Anacrusis from someone who was wrong. It's too bad they aren't together anymore, :( I only got into them a few years ago when I actually heard Screams and Whispers (I had heard of them a long time ago, but never had the chance to hear them until Napster). I listened to some of the first CD from that site. It sounds good, but the later stuff is better, IMO. Anyhoo, I'd like to talk more about it but I got to go.

Later.

Don't forget Archetype. Their new CD 'Dawning' is killer. In the vein of Iced Earth with a more Prog feel. www.archetype1.com for samples. If anyone is interested I am selling this CD for $10.99 + ship. (No I am not plugging it because I am selling it, it's simply a fantastic CD!)

Hey man nice to meet ya again. We seem to bump into each other here and there :D

If you recommend them I will check out Archetype! Sounds cool to me.

How is your website doing??

Yeah, Archetype are excellent. Here's some more:

Ion Vein (proggy power metal)
Corum (sort of thrash/power/technical mixed together, just download some)
Aghora (technical metal, like Cynic but with female vox)
Watchtower (fathers of technical metal)
Spastic Ink (technical instrumental metal)
Cea Serin (power/prog/thrash metal)

and tons of others.
