I'm only up to Glemselens Elv, but this is a seriously mindblowing record so far. He hasn't lost anything through rust at all, if anything, it's almost better than the previous works. Mind you, many of the songs are old ones, as tends to be the case with everything he releases.
the title makes me laugh everytime I see it as Belus in Hungarian is an affectionate way to call someone named Bela (like Bela Bartok or Bela Lugosi)
Belus is like Ken's future wife calling him Kenny poo
I'm only a couple tracks in and I'm already loving the shit out of it. This is the audiogenic equivalent of dispatching a snuff film loving latent homosexual to the netherworld, then driving off in a rusty hatchback. All Hail Varg!!! Kike it today, fill his coffers tomorrow! This man has kids to feed!
The initial excitement wore off after 3 listens. I'm glad to see that Varg still has it in him, but once you drop the coke bottled glasses, the album is really nothing beyond average. The clean vocals were a nice touch, but it all gets a little tiresome in the end. Perhaps he can take his knife to the little drummer boy in WitTR to stir up some more excitement?! I was never much of a Burzum fanboy to begin with. More caught up in Vargtholomew's history and hysterical interviews, than the music itself.
New Burzum came out 5-6 yrs ago, under the header "Marblebog". Cheerier times abound.
