VCC Released

Demoed this again.
God it sounds good, but my poor computer just plain can't handle it. Used over a large mix it brings it to it's knees, and that's before you get into using oversampling!

Are you people peak-matching? Ie. turning down the output from within VCC. For example, the Trident setting will raise peak level around 0.4 dB on average. When doing so, the A/B difference becomes miniscule.

Hi Morten, you'll find that we matched the RMS between non VCC and with VCC making it the most fair.. peak values can get altered due to a particular console's frequency response + where the peak energy lies, and this will happen on the real desks too. But beyond that, even when I bring my VCC mixes a db down in volume past the ITB mix, I still prefer the analog emulated mix. But that's just my biased ears of course.

We are making progress with Win RTAS and 64bits, update soon.

Really looking forward to the win RTAS release - can't wait to try this bad boy out!

Fuckin' hell! I just updated to the latest version (was using beta 2.5), opened up a project with 64 tracks using VCC and the CPU usage was MAXED OUT, while before it was performing great, I couldnt even fucking play it back as it was fucking all over the place (stuttering like shit), this is on a octocore Mac Pro with 12gb of ram (Cubase 5)

Just my input : VCC works totally fine here in reaper and vst. All functionnalities work perfectly. The plugin is just a little slow some time to time and causes a delay in the screen display, maybe cause of the plugin instances communications. Nothing about the sound to worry about, here. The grouping function is awesome and really handy. It makes it a real dynamic tool of the mixing process (you don't need 5mn to change settings on all tracks). I was surprised using it like a volume/drive fader to control my busses independently. Well done.

Noob question:

VCC is supposed to go on the first insert of every channel, correct?
But, if my guitar channels are di's with a chain of plugins (Gate>Screamer>Ampsim>Impulse)
Should VCC still go on the first insert, or after the plugin chain?

I'd imagine after the plugin chain, since that way you're simulating the mic going to the desk. If you put it first, you're simulating that you recorded the DI with a desk, and then reamped that, although that might be a cool thing too?

But yeah, after the impulse.

There are no "rules", but think about VCC's primary function and how it would affect a real-world situation. If you're "micing an amp" by using an ampsim, insert VCC after the cab simulation stage. If you'd track the DI through a console and then re-amp with said console, insert VCC before the processors (or both before and after).
