I totally agree. Its plain stupid to degrade and disrespect other forms of music just because of your inability and ignorance to understand it. Personally, I think 2Pac was blessed with the art of poetry just as Vintersorg is blessed with the art of composing...especially vocal wise. I hold the utmost highest respect for both; regardless of musical genres.

I'm not really into rap, but listen to it from time to time. 2Pac is awesome, to bad I have none of his records. Eminem has some nice songs as well. And I really like German rap, that like 99% of you won't know, like Beginner, EinsZwo, Dynamite Deluxe, Blumentopf

always reminds me of that episode in "Sliders"(yes that sci fi show with Jerry O'Connel) in which it was the United States that collapsed and The Soviet Union took over...with red dollar bills with the photo of Lenin.
so there was this bit where they watch TV and see a couple of Black rappers dressed in russian traditional clothing rapping about Lenin.
french rap makes me sick because french rappers sound like they're vomitting when they rap...
plus i like rappers that are not completely tonedeaf(like dizzy rascal in "dream")...i mean for fuck's sake if you can't hit the note do another take or use your amazing improv skills to sing the shit in another key to have the 5 seconds of singing you have on the record not sound completely lame.
The thing that pisses me off about rapper in general is the injustice towards more sofisticated genres of music.
there was at the time a DVD of a mash between Linkin Park and Jay-Z...so the asian dude was mixing the shit in the studio and he needed Jay-Z to do some new vocals in order to fix glitches and stuff...and he couldn't nail it, he said that he's the old and tired Jay-Z...now the young Jay-Z used to have 9 days of recording and get the album done.
now that 9-day album would sell multiple platinum worldwide...while rock bands that work in the recording studio for several months to get the album done and then mixing and mastering for it to sound the best ever don't sell nearly as much and work a hundred times as hard

I don't really like 2pac just becaue I am sick of him, but Dj based Hiphop is pretty good usually it's crazily original too, check out Dj Shadow and Dr Octagon for example.
