Sorry In Flames. This album fails to deliver.

This is coming from a person who enjoyed Reroute to Remain and STYE.

The riffs are bland and boring. The melodies are ho hum. The vocals are whiney and annoying. Even my friend who has been a fan of In Flames for years can't stand it. This is the worst metal cd this year.

Finally someone else sees the light. This album is a huge pile of shit. I admit it's better than STYE and R2R but still nothing on the other albums.

You know what, I can't even say better luck next time because I don't care anymore!

But I'll stick around to bug the shit out of the threads and pay hommage to the older albums. :D

Your lastfm journal entry totally sums up what I think about it as well.

I still like In Flames but I don't like this album. That is all I would like to state. I will still see them live.

It shits on R2R and STYE...Anders actually learned how to sing and they play some really good melodies and solos. This is In Flames now, you're not getting another Jester Race or Whoracle. They are going their own path and not trying to live off of past glories. If you don't like it fine, but until you get off your ass and do something better, then don't speak. This isn't just for the starter of the thread, but for all the people that just put In Flames down because of their album artwork, some different riffs they don't like, or because of Anders voice. Boo hoo, too fucking bad. Live with it or shut up.

[I think its easily on par with CLayman for sure. Bullet Ride is not a good opener and Take this Life is , its the best opener since Colony and sets the mood for the rest of the album and its got more biting songs that grab you . Vacuum , Pacing Death Trail, and Vanishing Light all remind me of the way Food For THe Gods and Morphing Into Primal Grabbed me on first listen.

I like how you add we. So you're talking for everyone? How do you base that the album sucks? Can you play any instruments?

I mean sure, you can dislike an album, but by saying it sucks means you yourself can do better than it.

Please enlighten me.

I hate this argument and here is why: When I buy an album I am paying money to listen to something that I can't do. I know that In Flames can write better music than they're writing, so as a person who pays money for their product, I feel like they half assed it. It's got nothing to do with me being able to write music better than they do. It has everything to do with them not giving it their all.

I agree that you are paying moneyfor something you can't do and that saying you have to do better than In Flames in order to bitch isn't fair.

However Your full of shit if you think they half assed it. This album is bad ass. Maybe its not as good as TJR or Colony or whatever thats your decision to make. Personally I think this one of their better albums On par with Colony or Clayman.

IMO The guitar work is very good.Maybe some of the solos could be longer. The subject matter is very intense and you can actually understand Anders. This is a natural progression of everything that In Flames has done since Lunar Strain. Sure overall its diffent.THATS BECAUSE LUNAR STRAIN WAS 12 YEARS AGO, ANDERS DOESNT SING "RRRR RRRR RRRR RRRR" THERE ACTUALLY WORDS NOW, AND PEOPLE DON'T WEAR MULLETS ANYMORE!!!!!!

Or maybe you have outgrown InFlames Or maybe they've Outgrown You.

They write the music they feel like writing and play as they see fit if you don't like the album fine don't buy it. And stop posting here bitching how they could of done better. This is a fan site not I'm gonna sit here and bitch site.
I'm so tired of people bitching that they don't like this album or R2R or STYE. The way I look at then you don't like In Flames and thats fine.

You would have had a right to complain if :
the album hadn't been on the net for 6 months prior to release.
If the band hadn't posted the album on their media player on the day of release.
And if decent record stores that actually carry InFlames didn't have listening stations.
Complaining you bought an album you don't like is like bitching you got AIDS when you didn't bother to wear a condom

You are one emo whiney bitch. GTFO.

I hope that comment isn't directed at me.

Lets see how much Emo is in my collection.
Metallica, Tool, In Flames, Slayer, Sepultura, Satriani , Dream Theater, Motorhead, Danzig , Sabbath, Zepplin, GNR, All that Remains,Beyond the Embrace, Shadows Fall , No one, M.S.I. , Megadeth ACDC, Pantera, NIN, Diamondhead, Grave, Unearth, Pigface,
List goes on for days but there is no Emo in my collection.
Since I saw what you posted
I was not meaning to offend anyone.

All I am saying is that everyone is entitled to their opinion but this IS an InFlames fan site Correct? And there is a thread on here "Opinions of Come Clarity" right?

You can't disagree with me about the availablilty of the album prior to purchase. It was availabe 6 months prior to release. The band did post the entire album on its media player. And most music stores have listening stations. So I can't see how someone would blindly buy an album then bitch its not good. Especially since most of you that don't like the new album didn't care much for R2R and STYE.

Besides I concieted that it was unfair to say that someone must be better than In Flames to criticize their music. As I said people change or they stay the same while others change. Take Slayer for example their albums for the most part are very similar. No major changes album to album.

While "Show No Mercy Haunting the Chapel and Reign in blood were so bad ass I but several tapes before buying them a third or fourth time on cd.
Now Divine Intervention and diablus in Musica may have been just as good and may have not been all that diffferent , by that time I had changed and Slayer no longer fullfilled my need. Not that I respected them any less but the albums just don't speak to me the same way.

In exactly the opposite way sometime the band grows and changes. In Flames definitly fits this for some fans because I know some are used to the old straight forward death metal that defined In Flames in the 90's Maybe your stuck in that old mentality and don't want to let them grow so to speak.

Thats what I meant in my earlier post that maybe you've outgrown them or they've outgrown you.

Either way is fine. I'm not here to tell anyone what to like. That they can't perfer the old stuff vs new stuff or whatever. It just becomes a pain in the ass to be at a so called fan site and having people shit can the band.
If you like it all celebrate it all, If your a newbie and you only like the last 3 albums the celebrate the last 3 albums and if you only like the old stuff then celebrate the old stuff there is no reason for so called fans of this band to spend hours on the computer shit canning the band they supposedly like with things like the album would have been better if... Why couldn't the new album sound like this... blahh blahh blahh.

Jesus .. Can't we all just get along??

Oh and thanks to you who have helped me widen my collection. I have purchased 7 new albums in the last week. Dimension Zero Silent Night Fever
Dark Tranquility Damage Done, Arsis Celebration in Guilt, Daylight Dies
Dark Tranquility Gallery , Dimension Zero This is Hell.

Thanks to everyone including Devy Metal ,who pointed out Arsis, who got the blunt of my rant because I used his quote to start my post. Sorry

And Rivfader Maybe I'll see in the pit at the Pagaent or Pops , or Mississppi Nights, or fucking UMB if Saint Louis ever decides to host metal shows again.
