it annoys me that in twin peaks we found out who killed laura palmer half way through the second series, after that it didn't keep hold of me as well as it would have if they'd have kept that until the end of the series, but that final episode was fucking EVIL. that didnt annoy me.

woah woah kittens. dangerous territory, i don't think we can genuinely compare twin peaks with lost, twin peaks is fucked up in a different way than lost.....

lost messes with you in a clever literary twisty not knowing whats coming next way...

whereas twin peaks messes with you in a psychological terror kind of way. its basically a study of small towns, and how everyone has dark secrets to hide, and things or people aren't as they seem on the surface.

Lost is about peoples pasts, and redemption for past actions.

sure both programmes have some similarities here and there but they're too different to hold one against the other. They're both great shows that should be watched for different reasons, plus david lynch does some awesome stuff. it annoys me that i don't understand it all, hence making this valid in this thread.

I can stay relevant here, and provide some people with something annoying to complain about, Lost annoys me.

I think its mainly because people overlook plenty of far superior TV Series in its favour, but being a bit more critical, I think its the lack of direction, the writers admit that its half made up as they go, and for me that just doesn't work, it doesn't bode well for an interesting overall plot arc.

Watch something that will blow your mind like The Wire, The West Wing, Mad Men, Generation Kill, The Sopranos, The Shield (or at least the latter stuff, the first few seasons were just macho super cop stuff, no mind blowing plot) and loads more, they are on a different level of writing.

David Lynch is a massive winner though, I'm not sure anyone else can inspire such terror (except maybe a select few), everything he touches feels drenched with suspense, but for no apparent reason, Genius

thats part of the appeal for me, that its half made up as they go along...

it means theres always room to throw in ideas that might grow later on, you know when you're in an argument with someone and you keep shouting at each other, well when you walk away isn't it shitty how you always think of the best things to say after it's finished?? that's why lost works for me on that level, it's a constant work in progress, if they stuck to everything they write first time dead strictly then theres no room for growth and improvement.

i wish i had time to watch all those superior shows, the west wings interests me, but since i don't have time to watch them all i'm sticking with lost for now and i'll catch up on others in a few years, they aren't going anywhere.

thats what annoys me, theres so much good stuff to watch and not enough time to watch them all.

Well there you go! Aren't opinions great, it means everyone else has the chance to be wrong...

I fear with my voracious TV watching I might run out of programs sometime soon, if I do I'll go back and give Lost a proper go, I doubt I'll like it any more but I'm sure its easy enough to watch, you never know, I might be swayed.

If you do ever get some time watch The Wire, there's a reason everyone in the know raves about it.

And to be on topic, sandwiches annoy me, a bap will always make the same ingredients taste better. Fuck you bread.

Bass players piss me off. Becayuse there are so few of them and 99% of musciains that DO play bass don't play thrash. Which leaves me and Gerg the Merciless short of a bass player, which resuls in RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!

On a similar note, I know this one guy, one of my best mates actually, who, when he makes an assertion and someone proves him wrong, he says "oh, just kidding." we know what he means but it's irritating as hell.

i get annoyed when i cant be arsed to do something i know i need to do. then i forget to do it, and then i repeat that process until i have a massive backlog of things i need to do, then i get annoyed. i should just do things as i get them really.
