What CDs are dominating your player?

Yeah... come to think of it, I probably did see that on your avatar. Maybe that's why the cover looked so familiar. I'd LOVE to get my hands on that demo tape, but it'll probably turn out to be a fruitless hunt. Speaking of "Of Stone, Wind and Pillor", there is also a band called WINDS. And a band called the Rolling STONES. Maybe they sound like Agalloch? :D

I just counted 20 CDs in my "Black Metal case" that I have not listened to yet. Time to go through them all.

Going back to Absymal... Much like "Autumn Aurora" being the "N' Crugu Bradului" of 2004, I could see "The Pillorian Age" raised to the same status on this board as uber-forgotten cult-classics like Arcane Sun. You know, something no one has noticed that has been out for almost a decade that suddenly people think "Wow! Pwnage!"

right now it's deathspell omega's "si monvmentvm reqvires, circvmspice", and i think it will remain there for some time due to it's length and complexity. it will take some more time to bore through to the core

Actually I don't think it's THAT good. It's good but not great, except on some tracks like the last one (which RULES.) It has somewhat unrealized ideas at times and song structures and movement are not really stellar. Above-average, yes. A fun gem to unearth too as not too many people know about the band. I might have to change this opinion with further listens.
i don't know, i found it to be pretty damn refreshing. in case you haven't noticed, i've been straying away from most metal and going into the more advanced forms of rock and listening to metal hasn't had the same effect on me the past few months that it has in the past. listening to absymal the other day sort of rekindled my love for the darker shade of things. i don't know if that's something you can identify with, but it has possibly lent a "biased" perspective to the album. or maybe it is just a strong, original record. i don't know. all i know is that i want to listen to it again!

Wide signatures are fucking weak, even if Dali kicks ass. I'm guessing the other one is Alex Grey.

Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood

I'm rather interested in this album, probably because of that interview you posted. Neither of my trusty outlets has it in stock so I guess I'll just wait and see if that changes.

http://www.theajnaoffensive.com has got it under "arsenal" (using words like "store" etc is totally ungrim), they're norma evangelikum's official distributor in the us so they ought to be reliable

Agh, that shit bugs me. Moribund Cult has everything under Tinder Box and Weapons Cache and shit, I hate that. It's like a site with a bad search engine or fat chicks, it's just not right! :loco:

Wide signatures make me use the bottom scrollbar, and are therefore teh ghey.

Don't know this one, I like it though.

Finntroll - Nattfödd (this shit rules)
Thee Maldoror Kollective - New Era Viral Order
Drudkh - Autumn Aurora
Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Swans - The Great Annihilator

Kayo Dot and Swans have not left regular rotation for over 3 months and Drudkh is likely to do the same, these are works of complete genius.

I've been listening to:

Megiddo - The Devil and the Whore
Arcane Sun - s/t
Hate Forest - everything I've got from them
and all my 2004 releases

Little Sidenote - the vocalist and guitarist in Megiddo is also the same person that started up LARM Review Site.
