regardless of what genre, american metal sucks, how can anyone even dare say america makes good black metal, because of kult, theyre not even that fucking good, go listen to belphegor and disiplin
I can count the number of good American black metal bands on one hand. America does have good death metal, and some good thrash. Of course, American power metal is shit, and there are also only a few good American doom bands.

Tis true, there are a few good american death metal bands, the problem is that the vast majority of american death metal is now music scene driven, which detracts from the music itself. The few good american death metal bands pale in comparison to the offerings of scandinavian and euro heavy hitters such as sweden, france, and germany. And yes i am renouncing my country's music scene, and yes most people won't agree with me, and I'm ok with this.

Norway... then Poland(see Necuratul's list) and Ukraine(Nokturnal Mortum, Drudkh, Lucifugum, Temnozor, Hate Forest). Also Sweeden and Greece are pretty good. Don't forget USA got Agalloch... and that's it. I never had the chance to listen some asian BM... is there such thing? If yes, is it good?

I've listened to one black metal band from China. It was very interesting. Well actually not your typical black metal because it is more ambient but it is very very atmospheric, drew from Chinese culture and is (as I see it) amazing.

It is actually more ambient stuff with not your typical instruments. But stick with it through the samples on the site. It is very moody.

this is true

america has always been full of scenewhores, more interested in selling stickers, getting comments in their myspace guestbook and getting people to come to their fucking shows than in actually making worthwhile music.

just stop trying you american fucking idiots, you will never understand anything

You have new american brutal death metal bands that just listen to new brutal death metal bands. It's more about being friends with other new brutal death metal bands and myspace rather than brancing death metal off the the bands that originally played it by sticking to the genre.

every scene ever has had bands like that, its just that now its easier for them to get the word out about themselves. still, nothing new.

No, A World... is better...it's still good though.

France probably has the best current BM scene. BAN, Mystic Forest/Eikenskaden, DSO, etc. And its past scene including broken up bands rules too (Children Of Maani, Hirilorn, etc.).

French BM is great. Belenos and Crystalium are a couple of my favourites... Peste Noire and Nuit Noire aint bad either. :kickass:
