what death band in your opinion....

Well if you don't care about the development of the various styles and the important scenes and features of each one then I'm not going to try and change your mind. Though honestly I don't really understand the mindset of someone who will listen to the music but is happy to ignore how it has been evaluated and discussed through the years since IMO an appreciation of music goes hand in hand with an understanding of the influences and context that produced it, and I find both very interesting.

All you're really saying though is that you're too lazy to investigate what each of the genres actually are and would rather just form links between bands in simplistic ways to save time. It isn't that you don't agree with everyone else, its that you're being wilfully ignorant.

I appreciate the music for the music, not for how it came to be. That does not make me ignorant, I just choose not to research the music genre outside of the music itself. I discuss music, I am not really fond of music history, as it doesn't spark my interest. Being a musician, I like to analyze the music, play it, figure out how they made the music. I'm ignorant to the development of a music genre, if that's what you're trying to say. I would rather listen to the music then learn about the people who made it.

Lamb of God IS metalcore. They play a bunch of catchy breakdowns and power chords and have hardly any solos if any at all. Big identifiers when it comes to labeling bands metalcore. Also the gay ass monotone vocals doesn't help their case either.

You must be kidding, right? How the fuck is LOG metalcore?.. You're amazing me guys...

Lykathea Aflame.

Not a technical band per se, but the semi-complex riffs combined with odd time changes and extremely well-arranged compositions makes them stand out. Plus the drumming is uber-amazing.

I forget about immolation and rob vigna. If you want great unique guitar playing listen to immolation instead of nile and necrophagist.

lamb of god is sooo metalcore its not even funny....i laugh every time someone says they listen to death metal because they have a couple lamb of god albums...dont get me wrong i like them but there not amazing or anything

I'll give Immolation credit for being quite unique and complex, probably one of the more overlooked NYDM bands(or DM period)... they should've been huge... but with regards to how Nile is treated by some... they're far from the greatest band in metal or even the most original, but they certainly deserve some of the praise they get and are quite preferencial to most of the utter shit that comes out these days like Brutus and that shitty segment of boring brutal crap...

Not metalcore, but amazingly overrated, and I'm done arguing.
Yes, metalcore. They're definitely not death metal. Just because they don't sound like Bullet For My Valentine doesn't mean they're not metalcore.

:kickass: :kickass: :kickass: to that! I only have Harnessing Ruin but the guitar is very distinctive, very good, and always interesting. He should get more credit.
