What do you all do for work?

I work for Lisec Software. It's an Austrian company that specializes in software for glass production companies. Goes from order entry, inventory maintenance, production monitoring and control through to machine cnc integration and freight management.

I usually tell people I'm a software technician because my official title is wank-worthy...

Software Technician, Implimentation Engineer and Production Systems Specialist

Support alot of 24/7 production sites and work side by side with the Austrian head office, so I've pretty much NEVER worked a 9 to 5 day since joining 2.5 years ago. The upside to this is that I get paid overtime (after waiting 1.5 years) which is a nice little bonus each month. Also there's no official Australian office, so quite often I get to work from home. Downside is that when I'm not at home, I could be working ANYWHERE in Australia or New Zealand. Spent pretty much most of last year commuting to and from Melbourne Monday to Friday each week

Apart from having to deal with dickheads occasionally at customers (mainly management who piss on the work you've done or workers resisting change), I do enjoy the work itself. I took the job because it represented a challenge

You guys know what I do mostly, but apart from that I run SLS Studios (audio/video/DVD/web/graphic design studio) and I'm a partner in Dusk Music Video Production now (filming/editing/vfx/post production). Keeps me busy to say the least. :)

Currently working retail in a bottle shop while I wait for life to tell me what to do. I was doing a bit of casual high school teaching towards the end of last year, but haven't bothered pursuing more of that this year, since work in my area is pretty sparse and I don't really enjoy it anyway. Currently planning another lengthy backpacking adventure for mid next year (we fly out early May) which will take me towards the end of next year. I think I will apply for some graduate programs for 2012 and hopefully I end up somewhere interesting!

I work at the Bureau of Stats, preparing to annoy everyone in Victoria by getting them to fill out a form in August next year. The pay's alright but it's not really enough to support a whole household with, which is what I'm doing now. I've been there since 2004; don't plan on being there forever, but am not sure how to take the next step. I'd like to work in business in Asia.

I work for a media monitoring company in press and local operations.

Love it.

I get to be on TV with politicians!

As little as fucking possible.

When not doing that, I work in a department store on Oxford Street. I look after staffing, rotas, holidays, training, and general admin for 80 ingrates. It's kind of a made up role and I can be turfed back out on the shop floor at any time. The work is stressful, I'm hated by about 70% of the department, and I have no real job security so it's fair to say I fucking hate it. Money for retail is pretty good, but for what I do it's piss poor. Such is life.

I do procurement(develop and run tenders, then manage the contracts) for a government funded health organisation.

I also dabble in project management for capital works from time to time.
