What does your family/parents think of extreme metal?

Good to see consideration for other people. I've seen a lot of people complaining that their parents ask them to turn down their music, that's because it's fucking annoying! I mean if someone is playing their music so loud that I can hear it (and I don't want to), it pisses me off.

I don't even play it that loud and still my mom complains. she keeps telling me "one day you're going to grow up"

haha, w/e

Same here, but when I want to play it in my room, I'll keep it at a reasonable level.
Same here on both counts. I hook my mp3 player to my computer speakers ecewry once in a while, but I still keep it down, unless I'm home alone and playing who can get louder with the neighbor. I win, but I cheat, because I play guitar along with a song, both turned up to 11.

When I attended Purdue University for the '04/'05 school year, I was the only person who listened to extreme metal in my entire residence hall. I'd always leave the door wide open and blast my stereo while I was doing homework. You could hear my music all the way at the opposite end of the hallway and even at the bottom of the stairwell since my room was right next to the stairs.:headbang:

my mom really likes Michael Romeo's work, cuz its classical, and I dont blame her that she likes JUST his work cuz she has a degree in music theory. She's actually ok with power metal, because there is no growling or screaming involved and my dad simply doesnt give a shit, he's walked into my room while I was blasting behemoth and then another time when I had some Nile playing, and all he does is give me a funny look and thats it, heh.

Open parents are the shite! My parents just kind of laugh it off. It'd be nice to find a metal girl! My gf just kind of listens to all things....makes for bad car rides.:puke:
as long as she doesnt listen to slipknot, or even worse green day, im sure it wouldnt be that bad, but hey, pop in your music and have her listen to it.

So, I was listening to Morbid Angel and my mom was all like "turn that devil music off!" and I gave her a dirty look and I totally stormed off and slammed my bedroom door. Tomorrow I won't cut the lawn. That'll show her that she has to let me express myself!

If I did that, i would not be surprised if she would come into my room with a fucking arabian sword and turn me into shish kebob, heh, but since my parents dont even care

I just blast exteme metal music when my roommate isn't there on my laptop. I haven;t found any fans of extreme metal here and the only thing I've found that's close is a guy i don't know with a Rotting Corpse shirt on. Other than that I met some guy who's a fan of metalcore music.

My parents are the one that want it on the stereo though. And it's not that loud, it's just that the walls are thin.

She doesn't like either thankfully, and most times i do play whatever, and most times she puts it on the radio and plays fucking country cunt music. :erk: :puke:

I don't blast my music loud enough where i've been told to turn it down. I have heard my mother say 'if he does not grow up now he never will'. My dad blammed how I turned out on metal music also. He's like once you started listening to metal you started doing bad. That's why you are anti-social.... yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah.
