Remember those Marvel comics of yesteryear with the natty "what if?" type scenarios ?

Well, what would have happened with the evolution of metal if -

1) Ozzy Osbourne had gotten into rehab following the release of Never Say Die, and had continued to write and sing with Black Sabbath?

2) Paul D'Ianno hadn't left Iron Maiden?

3) Dave Mustaine had managed to moderate his behaviour to stay with Metallica rather than being booted out?

4) Venom had been upfront about not being Satanists right from the start?

5) Varg Vikernes hadn't decided to go and stab up the Euronymous fellow?

6) Bill Steer hadn't fell out of love with extreme metal?

7) Demonaz hadn't fallen prey to tendonitis?

8) The extreme right wing had officially managed to make heavy metal illegal?

9) Nu-metal hadn't happened?

10) CD's hadn't been invented, and we all stuck with vinyll ?

8) It would thrive in the underground and while the fan base would be much smaller and the concerts would be very rare, the music would be much better.

9) Half the people into metal now wouldn't be... can't decide if that's good or bad.
