What is the most beautiful, spine-tingling music you have ever heard?
I've seen threads dedicating to those "spine-tingling" moments in Opeth, but never for all music.
Post your opinions on some of the most beautiful, tear-jerking, spine-tingling, etc moments in music, metal or not.
When it comes to metal, a lot of Opeth, especially Dirge For November and scattered parts of Moonsorrow's works really send chills down my spine.
But, as a sucker for Eastern music, I'm gonna say that the longest spine chill session I ever had was a couple of months ago at my church's Holy Friday service. It was the 40 minute Lamentations service (no, not the Opeth DVD ) Hopefully, us open-minded metalheads can appreciate it. (this isn't metal-archives is it...) Anyway, the sound of the choirs and congregation singing at once sent chills down my spine for most of the 40 minutes. I've never had chills down my spine for that long. Even with those epic riffs and melodies, it usually fades away. But for those 40 minutes, that feeling remained. Of course, theres no video of that, but I'll post some links to give you an idea of the Eastern Church epicness. A lot of Eastern Orthodox chanting music is really beautiful and quite epic too, imo. Something about that underlying "hum" is really amazing.
