What is the purpose of an argument?

That was the most fucking stupid post i have ever read, you just totally contradicted yourself, and shot yourself in the foot.

Take the 'suicide' thread for instance... When we were talking about depression, you were 'generalizing' in the fact that all 'depression' is the same, and that it can all be treated by a few pills and a psychiatrist.

It is just the same as saying that 'all metal is the same', Korn, Opeth, Spiral Architect are ALL the same type of music. THAT is generalizing.

You post the official, dictionary meaning as if noone else knows it. And that is your whole post, your addition to the argument. It's as if you're not even taking part in the actual argument - your the mouthpiece for the dictionary.

I most likely sound like a twat now, but I shall post nonetheless - I believe in freedom to speak your mind (FUCK CENSORSHIP), no matter how twattish it may seem.

So, post your thoughts, YOUR thoughts, not something not written by you. Use them as references, yes, but not the whole post.

Exactly... and I don't think you sound like a twat at all, Sullen Jester.

Jannet of course....

You must have just posted before me, 'cause i didn't see your post when i wrote mine.
