Yeah, bunch of old bastards in here...:D

:tickled: well... I don't know about the bastard part... but I am very envious of your super classic Maiden gigs! Man, to have been able to see them in the golden years... TNOTB through SSOASS...

I saw them first on their 'killer' tour and boy were they smoking!! :headbang:

Too many to list. The mid-late 80's were my hay-day for shows.

Favorite would be Ozzy/Motley Crue in '84. It was my first real show. Crue got booted off the tour a little later and came back around on a small hall headliner tour with Saxon in tow. Spent the money I had saved for senior prom on that show. It was definitely worth it. :headbang:

I would have loved to have seen them with Dianno. I discovered them on the first two albums and still have a special place for them.

A little story about that Ozzy/Crue tour. They were scheduled to play Tampa and Ozzy got injured filming a video, I believe, so the show here was postponed. During the time between the original date, and the rescheduled show, the Crue went on their own headling tour. But, they insisted on coming back to play the show as openers for Ozzy. I thought that was a pretty damn cool of them, since they were big enough then to headline and didn't have to do that.

Same here. The first Iron Maiden album is my favorite. Believe it or not. :)
I was lucky enought to see them 3 times with Paul Dianno. In those days he was great. You have the 'early years' DVD part I?

It been a long time since I have seen them. I would love to go to one of their gigs again.

This is a tough one. I didn't start going to shows until around 86 or 87. It would probably be a Savatage show. Maybe Slayer or Megadeth, or even Testament? I don't know, they were all awesome back then. Didn't see Maiden until the Fer of the Dark tour and didn't see Priest until Painkiller:err: Not sure why? I wasn't a super huge fan of them back then. I liked them, but I was more into the speed metal and thrash in the eighties.:headbang:

Quit it people, you make me green with envy... :ill: :erk:
Damn, if I was only 15 years older...:yell:

AC/DC w/Bon Scott - Highway to Hell Tour (probably was 79) ;)

I'd kill to see these gigs!!! When do they mean to put those time machines in production already?! :D

Since it was my first concert and the only one of the 80's, I'd have to go with Iron Maiden with Megadeth opening, 1988 at the (then) Rosemont Horizon.

It was the 'Seventh Son...' album for IM and 'So Far, So Good, So What?' for Megadeth, and my 15 year old mind was shot into another world. Just awesome.

Ahhhhh those times when Paul had his yapper shut! :tickled: sorry... after he started talking shit about Maiden etc he just totally pissed me off.

But you are lucky to have seen "baby Maiden" indeed :headbang:

Next would be Angel Dust. They are a German "power metal" band, but I don't like the category. I really don't know how to explain why they were so good, except to say tehy were METAL like no other band. They had energy that was unreal. That is one band that gives 100% at a show.

Bryant

To me they are the definition of Prog-Power. They mix enough complexity of progressive with all the best energy of power and embedded in their thrash roots they have delivered in the 90's among the best albums one can possibly listen to.

I wish I'll be 15 years younger right now  (unrelated to metal history)

Triumph, Ozzy and Crue, hell, even I know that !!! :loco:

Damn I missed Thriumph in the video as far as I recall, now I do recall Ozzy too, not much of MC since I never dug them enough to pay attention.

I guess I'll have to say AC/DC/Queensryche. AC/DC was on Who Made Who, and the show started out like the "WMW" video, with a bunch of Angus look-alikes jamming on this structure, until the real Angus came out.... At the end of the show, a couple pillars tilted down and telescoped out into cannons for "For Those About To Rock..." "FIRE!"

Queensryche was on Rage For Order. The only song I knew was "Take Hold Of The Flame." Oh, to see that show again, as Rage... became one of my very favorite albums!!

I saw alot of different shows in the 80's from what I watch now. I'm into Slayer still, I just watched alot of shows that that I probably wouldn't see now.
Some of my favorites would be Slayer touring in support of South of Heaven, opening for Judas Priest. SoH is my favorite Slayer album and I was just getting into the band then, and my first time seeing Judas Priest was amazing. Another Slayer tour would come to mind, The Clash of the Titans tour, with Alice In Chains, Anthrax, and Megadeth.
Z.W.'s first tour w/ Ozzy on the No Rest for the Wicked tour was really good, even though I was suppose to see Anthrax open, and they didn't.
I saw Motley Crue on both the Girls, Girls, Girls and Dr. Feelgood tour, and my friend had front row seats and backstage passes to the Feelgood tour, so meeting Tommy and Nikki was a highlight in concert going also.

Destruction on the Eternal Devastation Tour

Also:

Fight - first tour
Metallica - AJFA Tour AND opening for Aerosmith in Buffalo (A 12 city gig they did to take a break from recording AJFA w/ Black Crowes & Warrant also on the bill)

i mentioned this before in NWOBHM thread, but my first metal gigs were Iron Maiden+Angel Witch, Motorhead+Tank in 82 at Hammersmith Odeon, which still have been the biggest impact for me until now.
next memorable one was held in Japan, "Super Rock 84".
Whitesnake (John Sykes era), Scorpions, MSG, Anvil, Bon Jovi (Thier debut in Japan) played in this festival. awwww good old days :D
and i can't forget this one; Queen!!!!
