whats everyones views on swineflu?

Wait, are you saying that this guy should be taken seriously? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke

Hell no, not saying that :) It's just a slight scepticism I have towards swine flu in particular. Anyway... we'll see wtf happens, I wouldn't be too worried about it though.

One guy in Sweden is currently in hospital and his lungs have collapsed from the swine flu and I don't think he's gonna make it... an article pops up from time to time giving an update on his situation, it'd suck if he dies since he's only 22 or something. :(

I consider it like the chicken pox. When I was a kid there was no treatment. I don't know if there is one now.? But It happened to be in 3rd grade for me (I am 27 now), one person got it and then everyone got it. The thought of parents at the time was "Let's hang out with 'jimmy', he has the chicken pox." then you can get it once and be done with it for most of your life. With the exception of a virus later in life. That is the way I see this. Out of the number of people that had it and the number of people that died. It seems to me to be like a ratio of the chicken pox. I would rather get it now and be down for 2-3 or 4 weeks and want to die during that time then get it 40 years from now and fear that I am going to die. Like the guy in the video said. The immune system is a good thing. I listen to it as take the pain if you have it, then after that you don't need to worry about it. I think that society as a whole maybe my country the most is so lazy that we feel like everything should be figured out for us. And yet, everyone knows you have to eat your veggies. And lets face it. eating veggies is like taking a shot, if you think about it you won't want to do it. but once you do it isn't nearly as bad as you think it is. Or, like watching videos of skaters breaking bones. I have broken bones before and i looked at my fucked up wrist and said to myself "holly shit that isn't right." that was it. I didn't scream. I had to have major reconstructive surgery to fix my wrist. And I watch the videos of other people hurting themselves and I cringe. Even tho I know that if it happened to me. My body will control the pain in a minute or too. So back OT. I think it is all about the media. I thing that almost all of the fears in the world are brought on by the media. I came to that realization when Walter Cronkite died. Because he would give bad news but new how to reassure the public. Now it is all about shock value. I read in the news paper here in Wisconsin that we have the most cases of swine flu in the country.... I have never even heard of anyone here having it. whether it is 1st and or 5th hand. I bet I will catch a lot of shit for this but I think that the media is the bane of the human race. I hear all the time on the news negative things that other countries are doing. I come on this forum and everyone is like family. (not an I love you guise thing) but its true!! especially Fox news in USA
