When did the heavy metal "scene" jump the Orca?

yeah, Tully wins.

another thing that pisses me off about metal shows... ok, so... I was at Blind Guardian in Philly... standing there, enjoying the show, and WHAMMO! a huge wall of people came flying up behind me. where did these people come from, and why did they decide to sandwich everyone?

Blahblahblah, everyone can say shit like that but it doesn't change the fact there ARE 'scenes' and most of the people who comment on the 'metal scene' do not belong to any 'metal scene' at all.

Long ago I myself was one of those wankers saying 'I AM THE ONLY METALHEAD AROUND HERE BLAHBLAHBLAH, waaaah' but then I put some effort into it and found out that I was very, very wrong.

So yes, it's find that lots of you take pride in being such individuals and not being part of the metal scene, ragging on the 'lifestyle' etc. but if that is the case, stop defending yourself when people tell you you are not part of the metal scene.

I'd just like to state for the record that I may not live the lifestyle, but I totally love it and can respect it a lot! I see how into it the local scene people are, and all the more power to them for it! To me its just not worth the effort to perfect the "image" that goes with it!

And now Im going to listen to Painkiller.

 i totally decided to put that on because of this thread, literally 20 seconds before reading your post, great minds....

the area i live in has about 40k people, its slowing becoming emoville. We have a bit of a 'scene' hasn't been any metal gigs in the local area for years though, hoping to change that shortly.

My city has 8 white people, and those white people that are not me listen to rap and pop punk. Minorities don't listen to Metal. There is no Metal scene here. There is one guy at my university though.

Wait a minute, you live in NJ...so NYC is your backyard. We just spent an evening with Destroyer 666 recently and were outnumbered by Mexicans. As far as I was concerned, my name was Pedro that night. :loco:
