i love pop music. i think out of this whole forum, i seem the be the one with the most mixed up music selection. i listen everything. there are a couple of rap songs that i like, though, that may be it for rap. metal is still my fave, lol.

In class we were talkingtoday about different kinds of music people in the class like. My friend started saying stuff like Lamb of God, Bodom, Cannibal Corpse. Some other guy said Wu-Tang (this is a Jazz/Classical school, even though about 9/10 of the class was in the Jazz program).

Well the teacher who is an older (mid-40s) Jazz bassist, saying how he liked a bit of Hip Hop because its not so much the melody of the singing, its much more rythem focused, and the repeating melody in the background makes up for the lack of vocals.

I had an old bass teacher around the same age about a year ago give me my first Dark Tranquility CD. Well...I was saying how growling vocals, although more harsh, are just like rap vocals. It goes more with the rythem, and the lead melody behind it usually makes up, or even blends in with the vocals. We used Ensiferum Iron on my freinds MP3 player as an example.

I don't listen to Rap either, I just thought it was really interesting
