i like to think the celebrities and models wear them to cover the ever enlarging dark circles under their eyes due to drugs & starvation. so then, yes, the public follows the trend whether they're on drugs or not.

pretty soon, all the "chic" guys and gals will be wearing sunglasses so big that they won't be showing any face at all! which might be to their benefit...but yeah. regular sized sunglasses = win. i don't like mine toooo small though. full uv protection is good.
