What I'd really like to meet is a black lesbian female who listens to metal. Now that would be against the overwhelming odds of the average metalhead. :zombie:

Edit: black lesbian CHRISTIAN female :p
You must be referring to "Skin" from SKUNK ANANSIE. They're a British metal/punk/reggae band, and she is hard as nails.

To be quite honest I find it strange that I see black people wearing such things, it seems like a bit of a contradiction and just a wee bit stupid.
Let me ask you: How do you think rappers, R&B, and other types of hip hop artists make millions upon millions of dollars, drive Bentleys and Ferraris, live in 20 bedroom mansions, and have women like J Lo sucking their dicks?

Because white middle class suburban kids buy the hip hop albums, the merchandise, and the sport clothing that the artists endorse. The hip hop record labels know EXACTLY where to market their products - and I tell ya, it aint Queens or Brooklyn. Please, people in the ghetto can barely afford to buy breakfast let alone the latest Jay Z record.

The contradiction in this case is that hip hop (for the most part) is about black life in the 'hood, and the oppression black people have to live with by white people - and look who's buying. Heh. THAT is strange.

Lajon from Sevendust, Skin from Skunk Anansie, Howard from Killswitch Engage, Derrick from Sepultura, Living Colour, the guitarist from P.O.D.(actually, they're hardcore), M.C.U.D. from (hed) p.e.(actually, he might be Brazilian), Dorian from Powerman 5000, Ben from Incubus, Tom Morello, and if I'm not mistaken, I think Chuck Mosely from Faith No More was black also.

I highly respect blacks in metal, because it seems like culture is always pushing hip-hop onto blacks. Not to mention that they usually get picked on at shows, and the band they're going to see could be racist, so it is great that some are in the scene despite that.

I'm surprised to hear that Suffocation has had black players. I respect them even more now.

It's sad, because my best friend is black, and he's the one that got me into metal in the first place. Now he smokes weed all day and wears FUBU, listens to WAY too much shitty rap, uses words like phat, and fuck way too much.

I miss the old him. It was much less stereotypical.

I think everyone missed my point...

Darkthrone...True Aryan Black Metal...Aryans are the supreme white master race...black man with a t-shirt proclaiming the superiority of the white race.

Nationalist socialist bands are Nazi's...they hate black people...It makes no sense.

Am I the only person who sees the irony in a black man wearing a burzum top, they obviously don't understand what the music is about, if they did they wouldn't wear the t-shirts.

Terrance Hobbs and Mike Smith of Suffocation are black. So are most of the guys in God Forbid. Alex Hellid of Entombed is at least half black as well. Carley Coma of Candiria is black, though some would say Candiria is more hardcore than metal. The new vocalist for Killswitch Engage is black too. Right now I can't think of any more black metal musicians.

Metal for the World!!!! Black, White, Hispanic/ Latino, or Asian and everything in between needs to be metal. To all the Whities out there trying ta hang in the hood with the brothers, ya'll need to get drug behind a pick-up truck and get real yo.

Truth is too often unspoken and if you disagree with me, thank you.

First of all, seeing black people wearing black metal band shirts (including those of NSBM bands) might just be a reflection of how much they like the music, regardless of what it stands for in the political sense. Indeed, most metal fans choose their favorite genres based on the music style - the lyrics, politics, beliefs are normally secondary (if even considered).

It's exactly the same as Christians (or religous people in general) listening to Satanic metal. They agree with the music, not the ideology. It's a similar type of irony with them wearing Deicide shirts, or seeing Morbid Angel gigs or whatever.

Yeah, I don't like how people think in terms of "black music" and "white music." People of all races should be participating in all music. There are already a good amount of hispanics in metal, but there really should be more black people.

they guys in bad brains are black, although a punk band, lead singer of killswitch engage is black, the lead singer in god forbid, and thats all i can think of, but a given is that its a rareity.

I kind of like Killswitch's new(ish) vocalist. I really liked Tom though..the old vocalist. Rumor has it that the drummer is no longer in the band?? Does anyone know if that's true?

And the vocalist from God Forbid desperately needs groupies (he told me), so if anyone knows any girl who's willing..please let him know.

Well, it's something that comes up on this board now and then, so I'll put it my 2 cents.

Well, I guess there are some people that are black on UM, that includes me. Personally, it makes me feel better that people don't worry about that fact and just let everyone enjoy the music they like.

And there are plenty of black people in metal. It's just not mentioned so much as a white guy rapping, which of course, is waaaaaaaaaay different. :p

Varg is an aryan supremacist (now that he's in jail trying to be Hitler), but the band never was, as far as I remember..

Unfortunately, not many blacks even get a look-in on the metal scene, because of the way society seperates blacks and whites (believe me, it still happens, just nowadays we don't talk about it), black people are raised in almost an entirely different culture, where metal is pretty much nonexistent :(
