XBOX 360 ANNOUNCEMENT

Okay, I'm not going to turn this into an argument, because I'll get pissed and this thread will turn into a giant flame-war. BUT, don't say anything that is an opinion is true. That's a bunch of crap. I like Unreal Tournament better than any game out there, and I'm not talking about UT2004, I mean the ORIGINAL. Last time I checked, that game wasn't about revolutionary graphics, it was about gameplay.

Haha yeah I should have disclaimed that ;) I figure it should be the other way round - everything should be taken as opinion unless facts are cited or it's an interpretation of factual evidence. That way the internet would be a happier pseudo-place.

My thoughts about shininess, superfluous weapons and gameplay modes still apply to the original however.

Given UT is big clunky and bloated, it doesn't supprise me that someone who thinks its great to be fat would like UT.

Agreed. UT Classic was the best thing after Quake (1) and it still is. UT 2003 and the rest are too fancy for me.

halo can be fun, with 15 of your friends, but single player, eh its no big deal to me, chromehounds looks fun though

The halo campaign mode is what hooked me on it. I like the story and characters alot, personally i'm much better using a controller than a mouse and keyboard. For anyone saying one is better than the other, that's simply personal prefrence.

Alot of people who "hate" Halo don't have much reasoning behind it and have only played it once or twice. You have to give it a chance like anything else and look at it optimisticaly.

I've also read all 3 novels, they flesh out the story much further than the games do and give you a broader look at the Halo universe.

Yeah i'm addicted to Prey right now too, I beat the story mode yesterday, it's spectacular. Playing multiplayer now...

I'm not an Anti-FanBoy because there isn't such a thing as an Anti-Fanboy, that would be a bit of a paradox. I simply stated what I think Sony is doing incorrectly. They have good things going for them like MGS4 and FFXIII. Although they are loosing alot of ground as of late because Microsoft is adding both analog and digital 1080p support in their next downloadable update, HD-DVD is getting alot more praise than Blu-Ray as of late, and the PS3 price point just isn't realistic for alot of people.

Also some games that were previously PS3 exclusive are now being supported by X360 as well, such as Assassin's Creed.

I've beaten both Halo games, the first one on PC and the second on the XBOX. I'll admit it did give me something to do to pass the time but I don't see what all the fuss is about.

In the first halo, most campaign missions were dull to the point of exaustion. I swear, if you closed your eyes and twirled your guy randomly halfway during a mission, you wouldn't know which way is which... It's just super repetitive.

The second one, I don't even remember it. Kinda like Wayne's World 2, I remember watching it but I forget what it's about (probably because it sucked)

Multiplayer was basically the most random thing I've ever seen in a FPS. everyone were just either running to the fuel rod gun/rocket launcher and killing massive amounts of people in a run and shoot manner or hiding behind a rock and sniping out people (which is equally gay). I've also never seen so many idiots who TKed in my entire life.

I'll admit I loved the whole vehicle aspect of the game though. Driving around and teaming up with people in the buggy was great fun. But the game seriously lacks strategy in it. It's just like Goldeneye in the sense of just running around shooting everyone. I also hate how it takes infinite shots to kill a person, in CS, if you get shot in the head you're dead. In halo, you can get shot in the head like 4 times and you're still not dead. I really hate how the person who wins is the guy who can click fast as opposed to a quick aim/fire. There, my opinion has been stated, do what you will of it. [\rant]

I've owned both Halo and Halo 2 for a long time, and that's because a bunch of my stupid friends kept telling me to get them. I played the original Halo all of the time for about 1 week and then I was already really bored. I even bought Halo 2 in desperation to see if they improved the game, but no, somehow they managed to make it even worse. :erk:

the fuss about halo is that its the first FPS to actually provide from skill! Thats the differ, most people where getting tired of games like UT, AVP, PD, 007, because of the lack of skill, truth is you don't realize how much little skills those games require compared to halo... Halo campaign is differ every time the AI does differ things. where as 007 and PD you just memorized the level and knew exactly where everyone was so head shots/ taking out a room of people became increasingly easy. EVERYONE of the 2 million + people who bought this game love it because of its awsome innative story and its skill combined. Even the multiplayer levels have a story within the story. If i wan't to play something fast paced with no skill and bad story i'll play Unreal Tourny, Pariah, Time Splitters, AVP... fps's are most defenetly are meant to be a pc game...but thats another reason why halo is genious such easy/compatible controls in the game, which most other game designers suck the bag at creating. but wether keyboard or controller is bettah or easier is strictly preference. Counter Strike is an awsome game, but you cannot compare compare the two!

Wow, you really haven't played UT, have you? THERE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE A STORY LINE. THE BOT SUPPORT CAN BE MODIFIED BY SEVEN LEVELS. BOTS SUCK ANYWAY, but I guarantee that anybody who plays UT has far more talent than Halo, especially online. Have you ever played against little kids in Halo? That's because the inexperienced idiots think they can play online because Halo is so incredibly simplistic and accessible.

Wow, I really hate this thread. I think it deserves a super erk.

You guys must not play much Halo, or at least not against other good players. If you play with good players, you have to have a strategy or you'll get demolished. The fact that it takes 4 shots in the head (with a battle rifle) to kill someone only raises/equals the amount of skillfull play in the game. Unlike other games, like CS, you have to keep a steady aim during all 4 shots and follow the person as they weave/jump/dodge.

The reason, if you had been paying attention to the story, that you can take 4 shots to the head is because of your shield and Mjiolnir Mark VI Armor.

Unlike UT(which doesn't really have much of a story), and HL(which depends on its modding community to prosper as far as multiplayer goes).

Personally I didn't enjoy the story behind HL or HL2. I thought UT got boring after a few days of Multiplayer, you have to spend time looking for a good server and when you find one your gameplay is on a leash if your computer's performance isn't top notch.

You should really think things through before you express it to others.

I agree with Proulxski about how you can't compare CS to Halo, though. I think that was a great point. CS is alot more realistic and fast-paced than Halo, and Halo is alot more RTS-like and futuristic than CS. That being said, both types require different types of gameplay. Which one you like best is totally up to you, I just expressed my opinion on the matter in that last post.

Wow, have you even read what you wrote above that?

EDIT: Nevermind. I can tell I'm just going to be the antagonistic person in this thread, getting pissed off at everything everyone says if I don't like it, and praising everything I play because I think it's better.

I've realized my errors, and now I'm going to stop.

No, obviously not, and that's why I posted it. You almost make as much sense as I do.

Tubbs Mcgee, and attempt to sound intelligent by being the mature one who walks away.

This thread needs to die.
