^ Didn't know we had any Meshuggah fans here. It's good to see that someone actually values them here. Don't you like Chaosphere tho?

I'm like one of the biggest fans actually (read my screen name). For years I had an avatar with Kidman's constipated face on it and everyone thought I was a dude.
I do like Chaosphere and even Catch 33. Maybe a little less the first works when they sounded like Metallica, haha.

Catch 33 is like the second best rated album of theirs on MA, just after the recent TVSoR. Don't know why, I just can't get into that record. Those under 2 minute tracks are a bit pointless.

Yeah I know what you mean, some tracks are really hard to get into and I agree it's a pretty unexpected rate.
Personally I find "Shed" to be a masterpiece. And "Mind's Mirror" is very interesting too, they often use it as an intermission or "ouverture" at their shows.
However I probably find it more interesting technically rather than musically because of little details. Like for example that the whole drumming part was programmed, or that it sounds extra chaotic and polyrhythmic but in fact it's written in simple 4/4 :)

What's your fav track from The Violent Sleep of Reason? What do you think of obZen?
Ironically I haven't heard Reason yet, although I have it. I'm overloaded with work and school these past couple of months and I don't wanna rush into checking it out, I need to get into the mood.
I like obZen of course, well the music at least, I hate the album cover and the main video, although I understand the concept . I won't be original here - Bleed is, again, a masterpiece, its drumming part became legendary.
I think I still like Koloss more though. "The Demon's Name Is Surveillance" makes me feel like I'm standing next to a starting helicopter.

Definitely my favorite song from Koloss. Make sure you listen TVSoP, it's a masterpiece. Simply their best one for me. The riff in Nostrum always gets me moving.
