Your Autos

Hotwheels10.jpg

My uncles walls are filled with hot wheels cars. It's crazy.

I use to drive a 93 Ford Ranger, but recently acquired a 99 Ford Explorer since my parents bought a new car.

The cars I've owned:

92 Acura Integra
99 Acura Integra
99 Ford F-150
99 Toyota Camry
05 Honda Civic

The 99 Integra and the Camry were both totaled in accidents I was in, neither of which were my fault. I've also been in an accident with my Civic but luckily it wasn't too bad and I was able to get it fixed.

edit: I've always really liked Jap cars. They've always been really reliable for me, low-maintenance, and good gas mileage.

Yeah, my previous vehicle was a 02 Civic. Awesome little car, just did the regular oil/filter changes and never a problem with it. Bought it new and paid it off. Wish I hadn't had to trade it in to get my truck.

Here's a Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC from 1986 I picked up 3 months ago.

Lt Hedgecock: What kind of car, Miller?
Miller: Something with reclining leather seats, that goes really fast, and gets really shitty gas mileage! Alright.
Lt Hedgecock: How about a 6000 SUX?
Miller: Yeah! Okay, sure! What about cruise control? Does it come with cruise control?
Lt Hedgecock: Hey, no problem, Miller. You let the mayor go, we'll even throw in a Blaupunkt!

It's a nice highway cruiser but single-handedly advances global warming when driving around town!

It gets alot of looks but I'm not sure if its because of the classic nature of the car or the Gorguts nature of the music!

So apparently I'm retarded, nothing news worthy I know. But I just test drove that '02 GTI I was talking about earlier and fell in love. I was hating on VW's because my girlfriend owns a Jetta that I've had to work on extensively, but I've come to realize the shithead who owned it before here was dicking around with miscellaneous things on the engine, thus the constant problems. I fixed all the issues and it runs really great.

Back to the GTI, this thing is fucking sweet man. I know Satanstoenail drives one and says he's owned 3 or so, but even for an '02 with over 100k miles on it it runs beautifully. I found out earlier that most of those miles are highway miles so it's not that big of a deal. The interior is in superb condition, and aside from a couple dings on the rear quarterpanel, the exterior is in mint condition as well. Here's a picture of exactly what it looks like:

Just like in the picture, this one needs to be lowered a couple inches, and I'm going to look for a new front bumper that's a bit more stylish. The stock rims are ok, but I'm looking for something with a little more flare to them. This is basically the looking I'm going for:

I mentioned to my brother earlier though that since there's a dent/scratch on the right rear quarterpanel and we're going to have to paint it anyways, we should two-tone it with a flat black round the bottom of the car. He and I did this to my buddies Honda S2000 and was probably the sickest paint job I've ever seen.

Thoughts?

Thats not a bad ride actually. My father in law has a Jetta and commutes over an hour 1/2 each way daily to work and he's never had any problems. People who on VW's are usually all pround and shit...

I was surprised with the acceleration it had for a 1.8 liter, even with the turbo. It's a speedy little bastard.

Luckily for me my brother works at the shop who's selling it so they're giving me a killer deal. It retails right now for like $8.9 and they offered to sell it to me for $6.5, which is nice. It'll cut my current monthly payment in half not to mention the gas mileage.

^ pretty sick man, i myself drive an 09 Pathfinder, it runs beautifully, great for towing my quads, and in a couple months to a year im getting a hand me down '83 Eldorado, the interior needs a little work, but my grandfather has taken excellent care of it and it runs well for a car its age, although i dont plan as using it as a constant mode of of transport, 'tis for show

Every single car in this thread is greater than any of the two vehicles I've ever owned

First vehicle was a 1995 Nissan pickup, it kind of looked like this:

Now just imagine the differences:
- Fucked front bumper - totally smashed in the center
- Faded red paint
- Stock Tires (they would be a good size smaller than the ones in that picture)
- Stained Interior (Not a negative compared to everything else)
- Transmission that had a botched gear system (throwing the stick above P was actually park, While P was where you had to place it in order to drive. What about D you ask? That didn't have a function, it would stall)
- Overheating problems due to coolant system
- Was in an accident where the entire front end was totaled (ran head first into a tree) and was then "restored"...)
- Plastic back window! You could literally punch this window in and get into my truck and steal shit. Thankfully it never happened. Had one of my best friends do it once so he could unlock my door (key locked inside), then I blew it out to scare my other best friend into thinking he broke my back window. Hilarious times.

Ah, good old hand me downs! That's what happens when you are literally broke (I also hate most of you on here for your monetary wealth and free education from your parents - I want to throw that in). I don't regret owning this vehicle, because it was still able to take me where I needed to go... somewhat. Well, it could until the entire frame began to fall apart around the wheels, it was literally tearing the tires to shreds. Pick-a-Part only gave me about $400 for the whole thing :(

Second car (another hand me down... which sucks because I just can't possibly afford anything with my salary), which is what I am still using (for about a year now) is a Chevy 2001 Malibu.

Gas mileage isn't bad compared to my previous truck (10 mi/gal vs. about 20-25mi/gal), it's white and is missing the front right hubcap. The front left one needs to fall off already because that shit squeaks and sounds like the car is hobbling about. It's missing a bit of paint above the driver side door on the hood but it's not that bad. I need to peel off the gay ass radio sticker in the back window (103.9 EEEXTREME!) and the Harley sticker, counting I don't like the former and don't have the latter.

It does need a brake job bad right now though, and some replacement tires, I just can't afford it right now!

In other news: I typically make 13k a year and only get back $90 from the government and states combined. Than ks to school this year I am getting 2k back. Too bad it has to go to a dental bill, as I would love to buy a camera... I'll never get a hobby at this rate.
