Your favourite guitar solos

They still have this unique touch to their sound and atmosphere I love, 4:20:

Almost the entire song:

Edit: @Burkhard, I liked the last 2 songs in your post.
If you liked the whole songs and not just the solos, you might also like the entire album. (It's titled "Løsrivelse" and the artist's name is Kari Bremnes, but the music on this album was written by Ketil Bjørnstad and the lyrics are all poems in prose written by Edvard Munch based on which he did some of his most famous paintings.) By the way, here's a live rendition of my favourite song "Skrik" which sounds quite different from the album version (probably because the musicians are different from those who played on the album - except for the vocalist):

(The first solo here starts at 1:56 and the second one at 3:47 - yes, it's a very long one.)

Another solo (actually I think there are several following each other) I like:

Left Hand Path is probably my favourite and then this 2:00
(I was at the Death DTA gig a few Days ago, best damn gig I have seen)

Seconding a few of these. And aren't guitar solos basically why people have favorite songs? I mean really.

Here's one I listened to recently, will add more as they pop up.

For me personally, in 99,5% cases solo is the least intersting bit of the song. I don't exactly know why, solos just don't do anything to me. When solo stars, I'm usually like "yeah, this is nice, now gimme some of that tasty riff from verse." I don't really like million notes played in a second and solos are usually not very memorable.

On the other hand, I love some short lead fills, I like blues solos and lately I am getting into Jazz, and jazz is basically a one big solo.

Perhaps, but having to go through a shitload of songs which may or may not include solos doesn't seem like a very smart option to me.

Yeah I think I'll download the stuff. Danke!

I correct my statement, riffs are where its at. But solos are pretty much the second reason. What other reasons are there, is my question.

Riffs are by far the most important thing. Then drums. Then vocals and whatever else.

Most solos are shitty, out of place, overindulgent wank.

sweeping generalizations like this don't make sense. It all depends on the style, the band, etc.

Sometimes you're right... they are out of place, awkward, don't add to the song. Sometimes they enhance the song greatly.
