I didn't think too much of it. The bass guitar is either too low in the mix or not used enough and the drum sound lacks punch...
I like instrumental stuff more in the lines of 7 for 4...

Interesting. I'm a big fan of Virgil and Rufus. Sucks to hear they are mixed weird.
7for4 is also great. I just got their newest album, diffusion, a few weeks ago. Good stuff!

Excellent choices! If you get a chance, I also recommend The Lost Trident Sessions. They where recorded right before the Birds of Fire era broke up. Someone found those recordings in an attic a few years ago. They where lost for around 30 years.
