I wanted to have a Les Paul shaped guitar forever. So its a dream finally coming true.

thanks for the recommendations, guys.

i'm pretty sure i won't come across those Matsumoku pickups but i'll keep an eye out for them. maybe someday...

the JB/59 combination sounds good, i think it would make the Falcon a great all-rounder. i'd love to get different kind of tones ranging from modern rock to extra clean tones and everything in between. i don't have high hopes for this guitar to suit metal tones anyway so i'll probably get some axe later on for those purposes.

the p90 solution sounds interesting as well, i could look into that. but it doesn't have to sound that distinctive, good overall tones is what i'm looking for. i like bright guitar sounds but the guitar should sound pretty bright as it is so i think a more common solution should work well enough for the first set of pickups.

thanks again.

There are more of them for sale on ebay. :)
(I was also told that the 45 works well in neck.)

I wouldn't put a p90 in a matsumoku either.. all matsumoku guitars have relatively thin bodies and light woods, so humbuckers are the way to go.

Had a good haul recently - finally abandoned my Line 6 Toneport UX8 and replaced it with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 and Behringer ADA8000 - hello stereo room mics!

The Q-Clone is SO awesome. It opened so many mysteries to me how some some plugins work (like pultec EQ's), and it also explains why I like some tubescreamer emulations better than others (for example the one in podfarm has clearly different filters than the TS-999) and I also I captured the frequency response of lolzgreg's ASEM cabinet impulse and then played the preamp thru the Q-clone instead of an impulse and I actually preferred how just the EQ response sounded over the impulse. I think I'll make a demo of it some day.

dude that sounds badass. definite comparison clips would be greatly appreciated!

Got this baby in an awesome shape, looks almost like new, and it dates effin' back to 1991!
It got the exact lead patch Sonata Arctica uses (Korg mono lead) and the lead patch of Vitalij Kuprij, plus a whole bunch of 80's-90's sounds.
Super happy for dirt cheap - 400$

That synth still holds its own today. Great piece if kit.

Want! I've been looking for one for a while, but I'm not going over €300 (much). But whenever I saw one on sale, I have not had enough money...

I have no idea why, but I have a thing for some of these early 90s synths. JD-800 is another I want.

Just a heads up: That rubber thing will fall of within days of use.. they always seem to do on morleys that have them. :S

^ actually a damn good bass on the cheap, friend has one - borrow it from time to time when bands come in with a shite bass.
