Hahaha, your sentiments mirror mine perfectlyBlabbermouth apparently felt we needed to know that James Hetfield attended a Dir en grey concert. Surely this is one of the biggest events of the decade! (Yes, I am being mildly sarcastic.)
I couldn't help but throw in my two cents.
I guess this is the state of popular metal today.
I actually have three lady friends who are epic weeaboos and are obsessed with Dir En Grey, and can talk endlessly about how exotic and culturally significant they are. It's really hard to take the band seriously though, because every time someone plays one of their songs for me, it just sounds like an even more annoying version of nu-metal. It's also quite discouraging, considering that I'm a fan of Alhambra who is infinitely more experimental than Dir En Grey has ever been.
