2008 AFL Thread

It was a great match, and great for the Bulldogs to win in Brad Johnson's 300th. He's an absolute gun.

Nice to see you back Dan. PM me your address so I can send your CDs.

Will do, sorry ive been so slack with it, ive just been way too busy to have even been at this place for a while

I was so sad with the crows loosing, only 3 points, oh well, Bulldogs are a good and fast team and out team who is full of young guys with little or no experience was able to stick it to them :headbang:

I just saw the ladder fixtures today. Its the season for asskicking and the Hawks are leading the pack!

and the AFL are thinking about adding 2 more sides to the competition?

what a stupid idea. There is not enought talent to go around 16 clubs, let alone 18!

The AFL needs to be careful they don't overreach. It took 20 years to get a dedicated following for the Swans in Sydney. When rugby league expanded into Adelaide and Perth it almost ended the game. By moving into Sydney's west the AFL will be going up against Penrith and Parramatta, which would sort of be like trying to get an NRL side going in Collingwood.

Adding extra teams would make it even harder for St Kilda to win a premiership, so I'm against expansion as well!

I walked into Telstra Dome just after 3/4 time last night and Essendon were up by 11 points. Footscray proceeded to kick 6 unanswered goals. Great success!

lebs dont like a game that doesnt involve violence..........the west sydney afl side will die

Adding extra teams would make it even harder for St Kilda to win a premiership, so I'm against expansion as well!

 There's plenty of violence in AFL though. I think they need to do more research before they attempt a new Sydney team. The Daily Telegraph did a vox pop of people at Westpoint shops in Blacktown and no one there even knew who Adam Goodes was.

My biggest concern with the expansion of the afl is 2 things, local support for the new sides and player talent

looking at melbourne this year it seems to me that they have a few players that should either be put out to pasture, or a few players that may not be good enough to be there in the first place. This being the case the talent pool will not streach across 2 more teams. Looking at the placement of the sides western sydney will never acept them. it would be like a liver transplant with no anti-rejection drugs available. and lets remember the titans are the 4th nrl side to try the gold coast after the seagulls, giants and chargers all tried and failed for various reasons.
