I had real issues with that cd. at first, I hated the whole damn thing...but now I do realize there are a few standout tracks but it's far from being my number one album of the year

I think it is amazingly inventive as a whole but I can see why (some) fans of Back to Times of Splendor are put off by Gloria.

The signature was previously waiting for Arcturus and Agalloch to release new albums and it was there for two years. I'm patient.

I think it is amazingly inventive as a whole but I can see why (some) fans of Back to Times of Splendor are put off by Gloria.

my main criticism is Vurtox's overuse of vocal effects (and the muddying of instruments in songs like Avalanche). It really bugs me. And the intro for "Don't Go Any Further" I really could have done without.


so basically if they hadn't fiddled with the sound of the instruments or vocals, I probably would've enjoyed it more.

I think GWAR's new one, "Go to Hell" is pretty great. I haven't loved a CD from them since Ragnarok and Scumdogs, but they've got about 3 great songs, and the rest are pretty good.

Back in Crack, Eight Lock, Going to Hell, War is All we Know...very catchy songs and pure metal that doesn't sound copy cat of what is out there today.
