maybe is not the guitarist who play in something wild and in hatebreed (my favourite children of bodom album ever), but remains still a great guitarist... maybe he simply drinks too much... or is tired...

Allu is good but I doubt he can "play a perfect show completely drunk"; anyway he always says that he never gets trashed *before* gigs.

I still say Subjective and their styles are pretty different.

Very different. It's like comparing Stevie Ray Vaughn and Yngwie Malmsteen. (I think SRV is way better IMO)

this is a dumb thread. there is no way he has gotten worse. if there is one thing that really helps your musicianship it is playing a lot of live gigs in a band, because being a bedroom shredder that sits down and plays for hours is a lot different than playing live in time with a band with tons of shit interfering. bodom do tons of shows these days, many of them headlining. preparing and playing those is more than enough to keep his chops.

I think before, bodom toured a lot less, so they would try and make their shows as perfect as possible. Now each show is less special you know, they tour a lot, party a lot, and have way more fans. alexi got to a point where he is a disgusting guitarist anyway, so he has plenty of chops to spare. maybe he does get too drunk and half assed on stage, with some sloppy playing, but it is still a great performance because he can get away with it

Are You Dead Yet? & Hatecrew Deathroll being worse albums than the older ones is NOT a fact as you put it, it's just your silly opinion.

Alexi is not at the top... they all have way to go. A real player "never" "ever" gives up practicing... Petrucci is not at the top too but he's 13 years older than Alexi; he's still saying he practices 2-3 hours a day at worst. Because he knows he has a lot to learn, still. He's not at the top, too. Alexi has a lot to learn, too.

Let's say I'm wrong; then, if you're at the top you'll have to "defend" that position and work/practice even harder. You'll have to release way better than AYDY... That's my opinion.

Petrucci not at the top.......pathetic statement. Petrucci is the best progressive guitarist in the world. If he's not at the top, who is?

@Pyrobates
your comment is stupid
Petrucci is one of the best out there, but he isn't the top. because there is no top.
music and musical development is endless.

Ok, but as a buisness he is. Looking at it from a selling piont of view, you wont get a better Prog Guitarist on Disc.

But.........i like the way you look at things as well. I can understand you're perspective
