Yeah, but even a band with a sense of humor doesn't have to have crap music!!! When I think of humorous bands, I think of Gwar, Mucky Pup, or Scatterbrain/Ludichrist!! The music might be slightly on the cheesy side, but at least you can groove and appreciate the musicianship. This new crap is just downright HORRIBLE!! uke: The Gwar shows I've been to have been the most entertaining and hilarious things I've seen live.

Agreed. Besides, why are Attack Attack drastically changing their direction now, after releasing one album that braindead people actually considered good music? Sounds to me like the first album was just a conscious joke or a way to make some moolah to start the life in music business nicely.

I actually enjoy listening to some of AA!'s songs, but that's mostly when Austin is screaming. I hope Johny learns how to sing and that he throws away the Autotune. If he does that then I'm stoked for the new record. Caleb will do an awesome job on the new record (he already did the low ones on their debut).
BUT I'd rather listen to Of Mice And Men than Attack Attack! (yes, because I'm an Austin Carlile fanboy, but what the hell)
AND, there are actually people that LOVE making this kind of music. Creativity is innovating, for sure. I'm not saying that I love evey attack attack song but songs like Party Foul... why not?

One more thing about the transitions discussion. I think Joey is right about that one. It's not uncommon that bands do transitions like the guy in that video says. In some cases, like Stick Stickly f.e., it actually fits!

Seriously though. It's ok to just not enjoy something. It isn't always an affront to all things sacred. I've said this in like 30 threads but I'll say it again. The vast majority of artists fail to succeed making art they are extremely passionate about. The notion of "sell outs" and quick money doing something half heartedly is ultimately nearly impossible to achieve. Such accusations are generally just a way for listeners to justify why someone would dare to do something they don't like.

personally, i fucking loved it. thought it was hysterical. thought it was everything the band was hoping kids would think. and i'm CERTAIN that when they produced this record they weren't thinking "geez i really hope people respect our art and musical integrity and the composition we put into this". they were thinking "this is gonna rule, we're gonna play shows and little girls are gonna go apeshit."

but then again i'm a little biased, as my old band was basically this + slightly more technical and - slightly less emabrassing, but still no shortage of ridiculous gimmicks.

One local band around here , no lie, just put a bunch of words into a hat , pulled them out , and got Sky Set Unfold. And they fucking stuck with that name ! For like 5 years ! Has No Meaning ! Also I kinda remember Matt Heafy talking about how Trivium means nothing , he just made it up and thought it sounded cool. Wtf?
