anyone here like alice in chains?

One of my favorite 90's bands. Has anyone heard the vocalist thats been on the tour from a few months back? I was curious how he is?

I caught them at a festival in Donington a few months back. He was very capable: hit all the right notes, and was very involved in the crowd; unlike Layne. For although, he may not sound like Layne did (being hispanic or otherwise ethnically diverse, is an obvious factor) he is a worthwhile stand-in - for now, at least.

Anyway, Yes I fucking love AIC. 'Dirt' is one of my all-time favourite albums and they, along with Soundgarden, are my favourite of the so-called 'grunge' era.

Yeah, AIC are definitely a good band. Intro's that just hit you between the eyes and you know exactly what's on.
And who can't be seen rocking out to Man In A Box in the front seat of a car.
I mean C'mon.
Down In A Hole was a great song too.

Alice In Chains used to be one of my favorite bands along with others such as Nirvana and Soundgarden and all of the grunge bands but then i moved to more heavier stuff obvioulsy but yeah AIC is a damn good band and i still listen to Dirt or Unplugged every once in a while. :headbang: :headbang:

Alice in Chains are incredible. Dirt is one of my favourite albums of all time. Dark, but beautiful.

Degradation Trip part I & II by Jerry Cantrell are a must have for any fan of AIC. You can almost hear Layne Staley singing at times, This comes across as the lost AIC tapes it is that good IMO.

i think the grunge genre doesn't exist, just a name for the bands who were from seatle in the 90's.
i love the alice in chains sound, a slow and powerful sound like black sabbath.

I actually saw AIC open up for Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax on the "Clash Of The Titans" tour at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield back in 1991, right before Alice made it big. After their set was done, I saw Layne Staley walking out among the audience during intermission- I thought that was the coolest thing.
