no actually the bigger issue is that girls dont typically understand metal in the first place....its too "heavy/brutal/hard/scary" blah blah. and secondly, they cant dance like whores to it. so there goes the appeal out the window.

Metal Moms, how's that for a not-hot thought.

I think there are plenty of women who love metal, but they just don't have time to hang out on forums like this. I stop by, but I don't have much to say. Opeth is my favorite band, the heavier the better, and my kids love them too.

women arent nearly as complicated at they make themselves out to be. just most men are retarded, and assume a female is just as into sports, working on their cars, and scratching their genitals in front of baywatch on the sofa as they are. its just not the case. but yes...im willing to bet 95% of the men on this forum has very little experience with women in the first place to draw any sort of conclusions from, let alone women outside of the metal realm which obviously operate a bit differently than women of the mainstream.

and for the person who stated their metal female friends had no "history"...im willing to bet they do. just youre simply not aware of it...or youre just as screwed up as they are so that you dont notice any significant or prevalent problem with them. sorry...its just statistics and averages people...everyone can stop trying so hard to prove their isolated cases are going to break the stereotypes and odds.

@ Joey: oh come on!! I know a lot of girls. Actually more of my friends are girls than guys. :loco: Still, most of them are fairly right in the head, metal fans and non metal fans. I think you're stereotyping us guys!
 
and im a fairly normal, mentally stable, decent looking (i think..), female who listens to metal.

and I think this thread is kind of pathetic, haha. :Spin:

I was about to argue with everything NFU said but then I realised that I haven't gotten to know many fellow women. I'm a girl who loves metal and (only saying this because it was something pointed out) my favorite album by Opeth is NOT Damnation. I also am NOT a goth in any sense, I dress normally, and spend most of my time working and riding horses. I would definately say that I'm mentally stable and don't have overwelming issues (not to say that i'm not different or can't act silly at times). I don't smoke, do drugs or drink and I am not ugly or fat (again, only pointing out because of something mentioned earlier). Oh, and I didn't even know what Opeth looked like till I saw them live.

Well, that's me. I don't know any girls or women that are into metal so I wouldn't be able to say if they are "normal" or not. However, I also don't have ANY girlfriends :confused: I do have a couple boyfriends and I can say that they are not into metal and one especially can't stand it when I throw on some Arch Enemy or Opeth.

Anyways, my point is that generalisations are dangerous and when people make them it means there is some underlying issue with THAT person. Maybe NFU had some bad experiences with a certain type of girl and now places those traits on all women? Whatever the case may be I doubt it's true that all women who listen to metal are "damaged goods". Good way to put it by the way, not offensive or nauseating at all.
