Haven't been following this issue, so I'll stay out of the politics, but I do know that Mexicans know how to fucking party.
Another personal observation: While I'm against illegal immigration for the mere illegality of it, most of the (white) people I hear complaining about illegal immigration (in my personal experience) usually throw in some sort of racist remark or anti-Hispanic slur, and complain about Mexicans stealing our jobs.
Shouldn't these people be angry at the employers of these workers, for not properly checking if they're a legal citizen or worse hiring them knowing they're illegal to save a buck? As Jeff pointed out, there's usually signs if they're a Mexican American or someone straight from the border. If they're standing in a group in front of Home Depot, and only one of them speaks partial English on behalf of the whole group, you might want to check their IDs before telling them to pile into your truck on the way to a job.
Another personal observation or two: I've worked with plenty of Mexicans at various jobs, and the motherfuckers know how to work. They bust their asses. I've never seen a lazy Mexican, ever. There have been countless times where I've struggled just to keep up and not feel like a lazy asshole working along side them. Usually after talking a bit with them too, even the ones with heavy accents (my friend is a good example, I can barely understand him, haha), you tend to find that they hate illegal immigrants more than most white people do. Think about it. They had to jump through all these hoops to gain their citizenship legally, and yet they still get funny looks and odd stares all the time because of peoples hatred toward illegal immigrants.
And as far as accents go (lol at Ahnold's speech comment), as cliche as it sounds, it's part of the American fabric. Should a southerner be forced to drop his accent when visiting the northwest? Or did I misunderstand something in the video?
