Beer

I'm probably the biggest Ligotti fan on this board (and I thought I was the only one). Been a fan of his for years, hence my location haha

Being a big fan of the Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse, I finally got around to drinking the Dunkel version of it. Somewhat disappointed in it's extremely watery mouthfeel. This thing is as chuggable as a light lager! Still it has plenty of flavor, and it smells glorious. I just wish it was heavier

yeah Franziskaner is one of my favorite Hefs followed by Paulaner and Ayinger. People are always surprised by how tasty it is. Never tried the dunkel version though

Bought myself a sixer of Boulevard Irish Red (Spring Seasonal) for $6. I felt cheap and got it considering it was on sale. Compared to the only other irish red i've had (Smithwick's) this is much much better. I'm no beer expert, but everything about this beer just feels right, even if the taste isn't the greatest. Very neutral to me and very drinkable. I get some nuttiness and maybe some caramel, and it finishes kinda hoppy but not too bitter for an average drinker.

So glad I got this. Good stuff.

Caramel malts are common in Irish reds from what I understand so I wouldn't be surprised if you picked up some of those hints.

Pretty much everything by Boulevard is solid, there is better beer out there, but for the price & drinkability I buy their product's often. I have toured their brewery twice since it's only like 15 mins away from my house. My personal favorites are their Pale Ale, Tank 7 (this one is 8% ABV & is pricier), Irish Ale, Wheat, Single Wide IPA, Bob's 47 Oktoberfest (fall seasonal), Nutcraker Ale (winter seasonal), & Bully Porter. All of those beers are very good.
