In this thread we discuss the best of those annoying intros/outros/random non-metal tracks that metal bands have the generally annoying habit of putting on their albums.

However there are a few good ones!

My favorites are Beherit's "Summerlands" and Necromantia's "The Arcane Light of Hecate", how about you guys?!

Oh, and as far as Beherit goes, I prefer Nuclear Girl. Such a fucking creepy track.

They're both good, there's not really a misplaced track on that album.

Intro (Under the Blade of the Dead) and outro (Celtic Harp Solo) of Aeternus' Beyond the Wandering Moon.
These are great and so is The Necromantia track SV mentioned.
Summoning's intros and interludes are very good, specifically- Soul Wandering-the opening track on Minas Morgul, Angvands Schmeiden-the intro to Dol Guldur and the 3 minute interlude Wyrmvater Glaurung on the same album. Here is a pack of other great intros/interludes/outros:

Torchure-Mortal at Last(the interlude on "Beyond The Veil-the other short tracks aren't as good, imo)
Mindrot-Dawning(opening instrumental)
The Chasm-Deathcult Arrival, A Soulstorm Bleeds Over the Horizon,Procession to the Infraworld(Conjuration of the Spectral Empire)
Seance-Hidden Under Scars(closing instrumental on Saltrubbed Eyes)
Amorphis-Karelia,Thousand Lakes

Death-Cosmic Sea(Human)
At the Gates-The Scar(The Red in the Sky is Ours)
Demigod-Perpetual Ascent(Slumber of Sullen Eyes)
Varathron-His Majesty at the Swamp
Lykathea Aflame-Walking in the Garden of Maa't(a bit overlong, though)
Phlebotomized-In Search of Tranquility(on Immense Intense Suspense)
Afflicted-Prodigal Sun
Samael-Total Consecration(on Blood Ritual)
Molested-Blod Draum
Vore-Opaque(on Lord of Storms)
Asphyx-Ode to A Nameless Grave(on The Rack)
Gae Bolg&The Church of Fand- Montsegur,Larmes de Sang(opening and closing instrumentals)
The Prayer tracks on Deathspell Omega's SMRC
Sol Invictus-Blood and Wine, Wine and Blood(Lex Talionis)

I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting

At The Gates def. has my favorite fiiller stuff.

Good list, good bands.

The intro of acoustic guitar with creepy extra effects toward the end of it on Necrophagia-Season Of the Dead is really cool as well as the outro on that album..

Mercyful Fate-Satanic Prayer on Don't Break the Oath

and of course the intro to Black Sabbath's self titled song with the thunder, rain and bell-tolling

those are a few of my favorites

Any instrumental tracks by any artist, at anytime, pretty much.

Also I feel that Damnation by Opeth is pretty much one huge filler track.

Well, it looks Darkbliss has most everything covered in relation to the topic at hand.

Actually I can think of a couple more:

Nokturnal Mortum- Black Moon Overture (cheesy but awesome final fantasy-esque casio-laden introduction, anybody?)

Carbonized- Frozen Landscapes (or how about a groovy absurdist instrumental with some ass-kicking acoustics playing in unison with the repetitive drums/bass line?)

Yeah Black Moon Overture is great! I actually don't really find it cheesy at all and I have a pretty hypersensitive sense of cheese, being an indie faggot and all.
