Best of 2006 so far

lol @ MCR being "promising and accomplished". what are you basing that on if i may ask

if you actually spent the time to hear the leap they made musically from the last album to this one, it would answer your own question. however i highly doubt youre going to do that...which is fine...i dont expect most people here to honestly care too much about MCR.

Haha, not really. That's a common misconception. Just because something's kind of cheesy doesn't mean it can't be accomplished, impressive, and ultimately enjoyable.

Hmmm.... interesting concept. I reckon you might be right on this one.

There should be a "Cheesy but good" thread.

Can anyone think of some highly regarded cheesy-but-good albums?

Singling out bands and not listening to them because they're "cheesy" is a pretty surefire way to limit yourself to a very narrow spectrum of music.

Pretty much every band could seem cheesy to those who aren't fans, and no this doesn't mean "waaaah they don't get it i'm so intellectyual the wordl doesn't understandz me!!!1" it means that pretty much any music could be considered cheesy depending on how you think of it.

When I gave up on "OH NOES THIS IS CHEESY I CAN'T LIKE IT!" I opened the doors to tonnes of new avenues in music, and I don't regret it one bit.

umm, pretty much ALL metal is cheesey. so any GOOD metal band should fall into that category.

Yeah, seriously!

Oh, man... here we go again on the whole "It's a matter of perspective" thing, where people will try to prove through pretentious arguments, citing brilliant philosophers, that the idea of whether or not anything can be cheesy is a matter of subjective opinion: nothing is cheesy, nothing is not cheesy, nothing is something, something is nothing, how can we even prove that we even exist, let alone decide that Manowar is pure cheese?

I hate that shit.

Your favourite band is cheesy!

some of them have pretty good songs though, my girlfriend listens to this kind of stuff lately.

Am I the only one on here who liked Beth Orton's "Comfort of Strangers" a LOT? That's a 2006 release right?
