Black Metal Recommendations-Beyond the Obvious

Haven't heard Sorhin, but they look interesting.

I'd say they're pretty good at what they do (or perhaps did), eg fast-paced, thinly produced and rather straight forward black metal. The problem is that the songs, albeit pretty good, become monotonous really quick and blends into a mass of mediocrity. A problem I've had with both I det glimmrande mörkrets djup and Apokalypsens ängel, hence I can't honestly recomend them.

But if somone would like a sample I'll make an upload

btw, anyone ever heard The Black's "Priest of Satan" album? with jon nodteivtdstdvd on vox, guitars and keys?

Yes, I have it, but I haven't listened to it in a good while. I remember there being some rather interesting material on there.

i keep hearing/reading about a great Aussie band called Nazxul. Decadent, can you confirm greatness or shittiness?

anyone heard Niden Div.187? with a bunch of Dawn members?

i still recommend Necrophobic. Opeth17, you should love these guys. honestly, i think lurch would too.

Beherit 'Drawing Down the Moon' has a TERRIBLE production, and I'm still trying to get past that.

You cannot be serious, surely! The Oath of Black Blood has TERRIBLE production. Drawing Down the Moon has fucking amazing production. It sounds like it was recording in the infinite abyss of space. It sounds like the vaccum that will destroy your body AND your soul. It's the darkest fucking nightmarish horror ever recorded, and the production fits it PERFECTLY.

Nehemah.:worship: Taken away by the Torn Black Shroud is heavenly. Really love this Requiem Tenebrae album.

Nachtmystium's Demise has been hitting the spot lately as well.

Listened to some Forgotten Tomb on headphones when the power went out the other night, intense and beautiful.

dont know the last two, as im sure they are fairly young bands.

ive heard nehemahs Light of a Dead Star. it was OK.

anyone heard the band, Hel...? they have two releases of Summoningish, Bathoryish, Gravelandish, Falkenbachish music, supposedly....

i prefer the origianls, but just wondering
