Black Metal.

Was this remastered twice? I know it was for the '99 reissue (the one I own), but I wasn't sure if they did again for that later pressing that came in the slipcase, so I was wondering if you meant that '99 pressing or the actual original version, which I don't believe I've heard.

It has been remastered once, to my knowledge. However, it has been re-issued/released by various label affiliates and partners multiple times. Candlelight is the original label, and the original pressing date is 94. But concerning the LP - I had read that it was released in 95.

Fucking ridiculous, how does this decision even make sense? Infernus has been the only constant member since the band formed. I refuse to buy any more Gorgoroth albums with King and Gaahl involved.

Hopefully Infernus starts another project, if he stops making music because of this I'll be pissed. Apparently Gaahl and King have the rights but the verdict isn't final yet, I doubt it will change though. Anyways, Infernus should definitely start a new project.

Dark Funeral are pretty good. I've liked all the albums they've done.

I enjoy them purely because they appeal to my most basic tastes in black metal, but they don't warrant a lot of repeated listens.

I wouldn't mind that, especially if it means a return to the classical-influenced sound of their early discography and an obliteration of the noise implementation.

I own all of their work aside from one EP and it is all pretty decent, their last two works were their best for sure - but not really metal.

At Zephyrus: You still havent heard Secrets of The Black Arts yet, I need to make a CD-r for that for you and Burzum/Aske.
And Infernus now has his lineup ready featuring Tormentor, Frank from Obituary, and Dissection's guitarist, cant remember who's drumming, possily Nick Barker I guess.

Christ, I saw Burzum/Aske at a local record store for $32.99 and thanked the Lord that I got it for $7. :kickass:

Where did you hear about that lineup?

Yay!

AVERSE SEFIRA ALBUM RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED BAND TO TOUR WITH ROTTING CHRIST AND IMMOLATION

Philadelphia: Candlelight Records confirms February 12 as the American release date for Advent Parallax, the new full-length album from Texas-based Averse Sefira. Produced by Tore Stjerna (Watain, In Battle), the album features stunning artwork created by renowned artist/illustrator Jos A. Smith (cover artist for the first Bathory album). Averse Sefira is considered one of America's premiere black metal bands yet Advent Parallax is the trio's first in their already decade-long career to find proper international distribution.

Prior to the album's release, the band will team up with Rotting Christ, Immolation, and Belphegor for a 26-day American tour. Set to kick off February 4 at the Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, North Carolina the tour will circle the US before ending at the Meridian in Houston on March 2. "It is an exciting prospect to tour with such an excellent selection of bands, particularly our long-time allies in Immolation," says bassist Wrath Sathaniel Diabolus. "Together we will cast open the furnaces of damnation and scorch the claws of winter. The outing will also serve as the harbinger for our newest infliction Advent Parallax. This album is our definitive worship-made-weapon, one that shall galvanize the believers and confound the uninitiated."

Signing with Candlelight Records in late 2006, Averse Sefira's recording history dates to 1996. The band have recorded three albums all released by small/international record labels prior to Advent Parallax. Candlelight reissued a remastered version of the band's second release, Battle's Clarion, in early 2007 in support of their tour with labelmates 1349. The band opened for Emperor at their sold-out New York City performance June 2007.

Too bad I can't go see them. They're one of my favorites.

Is SPEKTR any good. I have a chance to buy that record or a Striborg one tonight.

Spektr has its moments of brilliance, though, usually ambient is not my thing, Spektr has alot of ambient passages. But its nice to fall asleep to, or to smoke a joint to. I would suggest giving 'The Near Death Experience' a shot. I can't really comment on Striborg, but Ive read bad reviews of them, quite often actually.
