Black Metal.

I liked the Dark Funeral cover of Von's Satanic Blood, so basically Von seems to be(I've heard stuff off their myspace as well) a very minimalistic raw black metal band, which features 2-3 riffs per song, with vocals more death metal than black metal, and probably the first USBM band.

I second the Drudkh comments, oh and I forgot to say, 'To the Gates..' is indeed compared to 'Anthems to the Welkin...' though I think mostly by overall feeling. Thing about Lunar Poetry as I can remember, is not an official release by the band, but something released by another label, not exactly sure the details behind that, but if you check their discography on Metal Archives 'Lunar Poetry' is listed as a demo. I think thats why its considerably expensive.
On a side note:
Von is not really my thing
though I can see why some people like them ( really minimalistic stuff ), Watain even named themselves the Von song 'Watain'. They only have on real release though, 'Satanic Blood Angel'.Catamenia is ok, I used to listen to them alot more, I like their first two albums 'Morning Crimson' and 'Halls of Frozen North' it sounds more to my liking though, I think because of the original drummer being present and the slightly raw production, though 'Winternight Tragedies' is in my opinion, a good slab of melodic Black.
Temnozor is great, get 'Horizons' or 'Folkstorm of the Azure Night'... they also have a great song off the new 'Eastern HAmmer' split.

After giving Venom's Black Metal a spin in the car yesterday I came to understand why people call them black metal. I was under the impression they were much more NWoBHM, but after listening it all became clear. Great stuff, too.

I still consider them NWOBHM. They're a proto-type of black metal.
