and, surprisingly, Johnny Blade... just love that tune.

also Ive always had a soft spot for Solitude.... completely different to anything else theyve ever done but one of the most beautiful songs ever imo

Ozzy's vocals on the early Sabbath material are brilliant. Not from a technical standpoint, but from an emotive standpoint.

i find them over-rated. i have seen them live with both the original lineup in 2004 and with Dio last year. i can appreciate what they brought to the table. i will cite them as an influence.. but i believe their popularity stems from .. as someone stated.. their mystical and humble beginnings.. and shaping a generation. much like metallica shaped legions of metal bands to follow.

Black Sabbath is great. I own all the Ozzy era albums, and I enjoy the stuff with Dio, but its nothing compared to some of my favorites like Kreator, Testament, Venom, Dying Fetus and Sanctity.

metal has just progressed, and black sabbath didnt have very much innovation...meaning they never tried many new things after they invented their own genre.

Still, probably the biggest inspiration in all of metal.
