I don't think anyone here thinks Demilich is the epitome of all things metal. They are a damn good death metal band with fucked up beats and weird riffage... which appeals to me....

I agree with you on Shadow Machanics. It is an impressive album, but I think Slumber of the Sullen Eyes was written far better. They only reason people are talking about it again is because is going to be re-released. About 6-7 months ago GoD was talking about Demigod, Torchure, and Demilich, and GoD thankfully shared them with everyone here.

I mention "Slumber Of Sullen Eyes" because I've had it for a few years and it's still the best death metal I've ever heard.

Demilich is damn good, and very near the top of said genre, but the epitome of metal? No.

Old CC's worse than the new. Corpsegrinder is the only thing that band has goin for em. Barnes blows.

I did not want to make an entire thread on this so thought a 'death metal' thread would be good place. Demigod 'slumber of the sullen eyes' is being re-released on XTREEM the 1st of January 2006. Demigod's official website gives a link to the sit re-releasing the album. I can't find anything on the site about it though.
