CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008: More Bands & On-Sale Date Announced

I'm excited about the Thursday stuff for the most part .. pretty well versed on Tyr and Turisas.

Agreed. That's a pretty cool tour. I believe I'll be catching it with the RC crew in NYC on 5/22.

I am not jumping up and down over the Saturday lineup. I don't consider any of those bands to be among my favorites, although I am familiar with all but The Autumn Offering.

Agreed. As for the Autumn Offering, I doubt you'd like them. It's unfair to judge a band by a single track, but... the one song I heard sounds like Mall Metal.

EDIT: Just checked out their MySpace page... yep, Mall Metal.

Testament would be cool to see live.

At this point I'm hoping the Friday lineup is killer, and contains at least one or two bands that I can get excited about.

Agreed. It would be cool to finally get to see the windy city.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed aside from Testament and Suidakra but I'll go regardless, I've always wanted to see Chicago. I wish the people I was rooming with were going the first day so I could catch Paganfest but I'll see it twice here. I just hope Friday has at least one great band. If only Novembers Doom could play again.

I have a Chaoswave album, but I only spun it a few times. I like Twelfth Gate, and the Autumn Offering is definitely not my cup of tea.

Hopefully Friday has from Power and Prog bands.
