tbh IQ is highly problematic and I think is of little use in measuring what it claims to measure.

Care to explain? If there's some better way of measuring cognitive ability I'd love to see it.

I think what he's saying is that you can be an intelligent philisopher or retoric, or a guy with a smart sense of humour and still be bad at solving logical problems as in an IQ test.

I find that hard to believe since one of the requirements for being an intelligent philosopher is (superior) abstract reasoning ability which is precisely one of the things that IQ tests measure.

Logical problems aren't the only things included in IQ tests.

I just saw this a few nights ago actually. I liked it to some degree, but the whole movie sort of shits on itself when that annoying attempt at social commentary becomes extremely apparent around the second half. Still a pretty decent flick though.

I disagree with this notion. Most people are woefully ignorant (and this usually is not their fault), but I don't think that this is the same as being an idiot.

well it is their fault if they have access to all kinds of information, et al and yet choose to remain ignorant.
