Controversial opinions on metal

Also we kinda discussed this but I don't see the point in seperating the NWOBHM bands from other artists who were basically doing the same kind of music be they from a different time or different country.

I actually think Blood Fire Death is overrated, although I still like it. Sure the opener and closer are epic and amazing, but the high speed thrashing of the tracks inbetween wears thin for me. I don't find them to be nearly as good as the most aggressive and violent tracks on Under the Sign...

Its still better than any Norwegian black metal album ;)

I actually think A Fine Day To Die is quite overrated. Obviously it is awsome and one of the better tracks on the album, but compared to the title track it is clearly the worse of the epics on the album.

I thought I was the only one who felt that way lol. It's an epic opener but it certainly doesn't blow the rest of the album away or anything. I like the album from beginning to end though.

I think that Blood on Ice is pretty overlooked. It's a bit different from the other Viking albums.

My second favourite! Also, the Nordland albums are quite awesome.

The point would be, they're not British.
