We've been discussing a fan club cd with the guys & what to put on it, and one idea was a cover song cd. So if they were to do that, what songs would you want to hear them cover?

**Note** this is not carved in stone, so don't complain that you'd rather have something else on the fan club cd, or treat this as a guarantee that the first fan club cd WILL be cover tunes..I'm just curious what songs folks would like to hear SymX do. :)

Here's a brief list I would like to hear re-done by Symphony X:

Tears for Fears - "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"
Midnight Oil - "Beds Are Burning"
Morissey - "Everyday Is Like Sunday"
Erasure - "Chains of Love"
John Parr - "St. Elmo's Fire"
The Cars - "Drive"
Duran Duran - "A View To A Kill"
Duran Duran - "Come Undone"
Sting - "All This Time"
Zebra - "Who's Behind The Door?"
Blondie - "Union City Blue"
Billy Idol - "Eyes Without A Face"
Mr. Mister - "Broken Wings"
The Cure - "Just Like Heaven"
Pet Shop Boys - "East End Boys"
Thin Lizzy - "Jailbreak"
Elton John - "Tiny Dancer"
Kate Bush - "Running Up The Hill"
Kim Carnes - "Betty Davis Eyes"
Kenny Rogers - "The Gambler"
Lionel Richie - "Hello"
The Police - "Don't Stand So Close To Me"
'Til Tuesday - "Voices Carry"
Tears for Fears - "Shout"
Coldplay - "Spies"
Hall & Oates - "Maneater"
Sarah McLachlan - "Adia"
Rod Stewart - "Forever Young"

Fuckin' hell, i'm a death metal fan mostly and I doubt they'll do a death metal song  oh well let's see:

Testament - First Strike is Deadly and Over The Wall (it'll be interesting to see Mike play these solos :tickled: )
Ozzy - Mr. Crowley
Cacophony - Speed Metal Symphony and Concerto
Dark Angel - The Burning Of Sodom
Opeth - Black Rose Immortal

What exactly is a fan club cd? A cd only available to fan club members?
Anyway, I'd like to hear them cover following tunes:

Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath
Stargazer by Rainbow
The March of the Black Queen by Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody -II-
Just a Matter of Time by Phantom's Opera :D
I'll See The Light Tonight by Yngwie (come on, someone's gotta cover his stuff)
Queen in Love -II-
Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas
Icarus - Borne on the Wings of Steel by Kansas

Oh and people please, stop listing bands like DT, Angra or Opeth, you know darn well SyX is not gonna cover any of their contemporaries, plus show some sense in classics.

Cool!

Queen - "Princes Of The Universe" [minus the switch to major keys]
Billy Idol - "Eyes Without A Face"
Elton John - "Sixty Years On"
Kansas - "The Wall"
Metallica - "Master Of Puppets"
Ozzy - "Mr. Crowley"
Rush - "The Fountain Of Lamneth"
Genesis - "The Fountain Of Salmacis"
Iron Maiden - "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son"
Tears For Fears - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"
Tear For Fears - "Head Over Heals"
Camel - "The White Rider"
Billy Joel - "The Stranger"
Mr. Mister - "Broken Wings"
The Cars - "Hello Again"
The Cars - "Drive"
The Cars - "Moving In Stereo"
Hall & Oates - "Maneater"
Deep Purple - "Child In Time"
Zebra - "Who's Behind The Door?"
Blondie - "Accidents Never Happen"
Blondie - "Union City Blue"
Duran Duran - "Union Of The Snake"
Duran Duran - "Save A Prayer"
Duran Duran - "Wild Boys"
Glenn Frey - "Smuggler's Blues"
Lionel Richie - "Hello"
Depeche Mode - "Here Is The House"
George Michael - "One More Try"

Any or all of those would work real well. As an aside, I'd really like to see another Symphony X variation on a theme by Beethoven again as an instrumental. This time...I'd really like to see what Mike Romeo could do with Beethoven's "Tempest" Sonata in D Minor.
*shivers*

Anyone who joins the fan club gets a copy..it's one of the perks of being a fan club member, sort of a special incentive to join.

I'm not restricting it to any sort/era of music, just wondering what people would like to hear. :)
I thought I should make that clear :Spin:
