Death Metal Bands

Bloodbath makes good death metal. Even if you like the older stuff more, at least the new stuff is still unquestionably death metal.
For example, look at some bands where old stuff and new stuff is so vastly different that you can't even call them the same band anymore like Samael or something.

I Loooooooooooove old samael, but it's kind of hard to even listen to some of the new stuff with a straight face. I can be open-minded, but it's impossible to put a song like "Flagellation" against "Door of Celestial Peace" (wtf???). So be thankful that Bloodbath is still death metal, even if it's not the kind of death metal you prefer.

Indeed.

Dusty! Nice to see someone mention Samael, Ceremony is a masterpiece.
They had a nasty change.
But they did release some quality stuff, Lessons in Magic is an incredible cosmic sci-fi opus. Have you heard it?

What do you think of the new one then?

For the record, I never want to stop punching this guy.

It has a few really good tracks, but it gets a bit repetetive. Production and drums did need some time to get used to.

Yeah, I liked it...but that and the fact that they have really lost their dark side depresses me. Even when they are heavy, they seem to be all about this cosmic weirdness. All of their album covers are either planets or some magical looking shit.

I get it, they aren't satanic anymore...that's fine. But they just used to ooze evil and negativity and that's what I liked about them.

His growls are completely different now, almost like a heavier Rammstein.
Still, I buy all the records.

That's the double cd that came with the "Era One" wasn't it?
I liked a couple songs off of Era One, but I can't say I have listened to the other one much. I'm just not really a big fan of electronic music.

Yep thats the one. Disc 2 is instrumental, its awesome, but Im a fan of Sci-fi stuff and music like The Prodigy etc.
