Death Metal

Yea Acts and Shtifun are third rate Autopsy, first rate being the classics and second rate being the new stuff. Autopsy originally fizzled out because they forgot who they were maaaaaan.

The fizzled out point is bullshit if you're to take the band's word at face value, which I do.
Don't see how you could say those albums are third rate, their latest albums are in many ways just an attempt to revive 1989-1991, it's enjoyable but it feels very rehashed and pales in comparison to the era they're trying to resurrect in too noticeable a way in my opinion.

Finally checking this out after all these years. One of the better Swedeath records I've heard.

Into The Grave rules. :kickass:

Been listening to The Fog quite a lot lately, awesome current band that does the whole ugly and slow Death Metal thing, worth checking out for anybody into 1991 Autopsy, Derketa, Winter etc.

I feel like I should like them because people make the Arghoslent comparisons, but they sound fuck all like them to me.

I like Grave but I feel like the only one who rates them probably the lowest out of the more popular swedish death metal bands. Their albums are pretty boring if not played when in that exact mood for swedish death metal.

need recs for modern death metal with clean production like this

i'd like it fast and high-energy but with groovy and interesting riffage

and no weird or grim atmosphere, just pure head-banging, fist-pumping, ass kickery
