Death Metal

...And Time Begins sounds like a Disgorge album that focuses more on technicality than sheer brutality. More BDM than slam, I don't hear a lot of slams in their formula at all. It's also their best album.

There's some slamming going on here, starting at about 0:30 but it's not super slammy or anything compared to bands in the genre.

God damn that sucked ass though, fuck this band and fuck slam.

A lot of BDM bands have some slams scattered throughout their work. Same can be said for some Tech-death too. Full on Slam is basically BDM that's gone metalcore and is filled with breakdowns and grooves... and yeah, most of it does suck. Deathcore and slam arent too far from each other.

More like Hate Eternal's best album

You know what, it just might be. I was listening to it again today and was thoroughly enjoying it. Which is not something i cant say for most of their other albums.

edit: I dont think CIG will enjoy the other DB albums either, especially Polarity, that album is way too polished and techy for his taste ... i think. I personally think they're both killer albums.

It hurts my soul, not my ears hahaha.

TechBarb gets me, I'm a picky bastard.

How about early Gorod? It may be techy, but it's also proggy in a nice flowing jazz sort of way. Just trying to gauge your disdain for the genre, since generally im not a fan of the genre either, but like most things there are exceptions. Decrepit Birth of any era isnt one of them though.

I'm not familiar with Gorod so perhaps link me?

ill take it, lol, but i won't pretend to understand, haha

i see it in your name, big fan of technical stuff, i assume

Who, TechBarb?

I'm PRIMITIVE myself.

Yeah the drummer was going nuts, but overall not really my thing, though I didn't hate it or anything but I can't see myself listening to it more than once or twice.

To TechBarb's question about gauging my tolerance for Tech Death and Brutal Death, two albums I enjoy from each style would be Disincarnate's Dreams Of The Carrion Kind (though it's been a while, maybe not anymore) and Broken Hope's Bowels Of Repugnance.

Hey Eternal, you should give A Perfect Absolution another go, it's nowhere near as flashy or techy as PoaND. It has that groovy somewhat jazzy prog sound that they're known for.

I guess it cant hurt. I havent given the album that much time, so its possible that it has yet to click with me.
